Any weekday between 1300 and 1600, stop by McNasties, buy 2 premium coffees (one black). Continue on to your friendly neighborhood Husky dealer (leave the saw in the car) and present him with the coffee. Discuss the problem you are having and ask for his help. It appears to be possible to replace the tool-less setup with the tried and true version. I estimate $20-30. Probably less than repair cost for your current arrangement. How do you replace a chain on a Husqvarna 235e

Take out the chain guard.Once there you will look at a bolt holding the chain plate.Untight the bolt and adjust the cahin, but not too tight just test by hand if it moves freely but tight.Usually a gap of about 1/4 or less is enough, tight and guard back.

I bought a Husqvarna 235 chainsaw at Sears. I live and cut wood near Pikes Peak at 9000 ft or above. The saw seems to run rich. Is there anyway I can adjust this (get special tool) or do I have to drive...

I wouldn’t recommend trying to adjust the mixture screws on a carburetor. Definitely bring it to a professional. I fix or try to fix everything and anything. My two exceptions are carbs and transmissions

Husqvarna chainsaw 235e starts but the chain won't move. Maybe the brake is stuck??

Does the brake seem to 'snap-over' like it should? Pull it back to release position, and remove the drive cover. Check the entire brake for debris accumulation or bent/damaged brake band. Check the chain to see if it is being oiled. Remove the bar/chain and clean the entire assembly, particularly the small oil passages in the drive end of the bar. Start the engine and watch for oil oozing out of the small side port where the bar fits. If ok, reassemble the bar/chain. If no oil comes out, investigate the oil pump, lines, and filter/valve in the oil tank. Mount the side cover, but leave the fasteners finger tight. (The chain teeth cut toward you on the bottom run) Tighten the chain until the lower run comes up to the bar, but can still be turned by hand. Tighten the fasteners and recheck the tension. Trip the chain brake and make sure it locks the chain, then release it and make sure it turns freely. Check the chain oiling by running the bar tip at speed near some cardboard--it should leave a thin line of oil on the board. Hope this helps!

Cant get clutch cover off new Husqvarna 235e chain saw

Mine did this when nearly brand new. You likely have a nasty jam of oil and sawdust stuck between the chain brake and the flywheel. It can be loosened by either careful prying of the case or precise shots of carb cleaner up in the housing. While you are in there look for a buildup of oil around the chain brake connection to the kickback paddle.
