Question about HP LaserJet 5550 Printer

Hp clj 5550 not printing cyan

My hp color laserjet 5550 is not printing cyan i have replace cartrige and power supply board also disable toner check inter -change cartridge cyan now prints but nothing prints from the cyan slot

Check the black cover on the pick up assembly under the cyan cartridge. If it is only a fraction too high cyan will not print. Make sure it is clipped in place correctly.

There is a chip on the cartridge that is bad or missing. If this an after market cartridge this a common error with the chips. You either need to return the cartridge or find someone that sells the chips fot the cartridge.

Hi, i have the same printer and regularly get this problem. Open the top cover and rotate the cartrige that is on top slightly backwards towards the back of the printer. Once you turn the printer on again this usually solves the problem

Are you using HP toner?
Pull out the cartridges and vacuum out the printer. Get a compressor or canned air and blow the printer out. Vacuum again,
Install HP toner and try printing again.

Very few printers will print if they're out of toner, even if the colour toner is exhausted and the print job is only black. Replace the empty toner and if this is the only problem, the printer will continue printing.

Sir, i have a hp clj 5550 printer acept cyan all other color printing
Check the black clip on cover on top of the paper pick up assembly under the cyan cartridge.

If it is not fitted correctly cyan will not print and no error message will be displayed.

My printer has two cartriges that are empty would that prevent it from printing ?
Yes the HP CLJ 2600n printer will stop printing when a toner cartridge registers as empty. The cartridges will have to be replaced or You could use the "overide out" option. This allows continued printing even though the supply registers as empty. Beware that diagnosing print quality problems because of toner becomes more difficult.

Overide Out
To change this go to the PRINT QUALITY menu then REPLACE SUPPLIES and change the setting from "stop at out" to "overide out".

It sounds like the print head is clogged. Try doing a Head CLEAN. If you don't use the printer at least once a week the ink will dry up and clog the print head.
If you can not get it cleared, see if your manual shows the print head and replace it. Some ink cartridges have built in print heads. But if that was the case, when you changed the ink cartridge it would have worked.

HP laserjet 5550 not printing cycan. Replaced cartridge, DC Controller board, laser scanner, and High Voltage board. Out of ideas....
You will not find the answer to this problem on any forum as I have searched each one! However I have had the same problem and found out that if you have reseantly replaced or reseated the Paper Pic-up assy you may have not pushed down the plastic top cover which sits directly underneath the Cyan Cartridge, this will cause your 5550/5500 to think there is no problem and carry on printing without any error messages.
I'm just a man doing a boys job, lol

Hi there, need your kind help. My Hp laserjet 5550 has a missing colour problem. Cyan is missing in the print out, giving rise to to blue and green colours being absent in print-outs. Scanner is confirmed...
Cyan cartridge is OK, means that the display shows the level of toner in the cartridge, right? Then chip it is ok.
Try another cyan toner, the printer may be that it has broken the opening flap of the laser. Or check if the laser's flap cyan is blocked.

Yellow toner not being recognized with new toner installed
Probably dirty contacts on side of cart. Also if you take out drum and cart unit together, clean copper contacts with alcohol and cotton bud, also make sure in machine where they contact is clean

Hp 4600 no cyan printing
Firstoff, if you have tray 1 set to "any size" & "any type" they had problems with it going into calibration to frequently. If you upgrade the firmware this will take care of that. As for no Cyan, check the scanner interlock to insure it is opening the scanner cover. You could also go into diagnostics and disable cartridge check and swap the cartridges around, ie. cyan & magenta, run the print quality pages and see if the problem follows the cartridge. It could also be HV power supply.
