Hi,
I have got a Asus A8N SLI deluxe motherboard and the sound card stoppoed working with Windows refusing to find it, either by Device Manager etc... I have rebuilt the machine upgrading to Vista Prem and still no joy. I finally replace the sound card with a newer card same issue. I think the PCI is dead but my PCI express Graphics work fine.
Thanks for your help.
Darren
Sorry but the sound card is PCI Sound blaster Audigy 4 card. I know what the problem is now, its the south bridge on my motherboard is broken. But thanks anyway.
The sound card is installed into the ISA slot not the PCI slot.
clear the cmos for a minute, set it normal again.
install the sound card to the ISA slot carefully - i mean a working sound card and couple the system unit and boot, surely you will have your sound card working.
