Dryer makes clicking noise when running

There's possibilty that the bearing is going bad. It would cause the belt to slide alittle when the drums starts to turn. The strain on the motor because of the bad bearing can cause the motor overload and shut down until it cools, then it can be restarted.

You have a motor that has a thermal overload built into it. This is for the dryer's protection. My best guess is to replace the motor. But before you do all that, make sure the wiring is good from the receptacle to the controls in the back of the dryer. It could not have a good connection thus causing this noise.

first check and see did any clohes fall down in the blower wheel,,from fillter no...check the belt that its not jammed,,check your idler wheel ...always unp[lug unit first.....now we will check motor ,turn unit on if you get a humming for about 10 to 15 seconds than a click,,replace motor
