M675 Notebook Wireless Problem

I recently purchased a used M675 from a friend. Everything works great but I have trouble with the wifi connection. My wife has her own laptop (Wireless B) and she catches great reception (mine is Wireless G). I don't understand how we could be in the same room and I have trouble getting any wifi reception when she can get it just fine. I tried using a spare Linksys wireless G adapter card on her laptop as well and it works fine but when I use it on mine, I still get terrible reception. Do I need a new wifi adapter??? Any help/advice is welcomed!

Yeppers..those are simply receivers, and sometimes, after a period of time, and vibration, and shock, they just lose some of their ability to tune into a signal. I've seen it in net cafes and inside wireless nodes too.

If you recently purchased your notebook, wifi may not be enabled. There is typically a switch on the side to enable the wifi card. Locate that and make sure it is on. Also Fn+F8 should activate and deactivate your wifi. Hope that helps.

Wireless internet connection problem

You need to reinstall the wireless driver for your model laptop which you can find at the hp/compaq website. Just click on the link for support and provide information on the model of your laptop and you will be redirected to the proper web page that contains all the drivers for your particular laptop. I did this when my internal wifi did not respond when I pressed the wifi button. After installing the driver everything worked great.
