Power issue on LG DLP TV (Model: DT-62SZ71DB) I lost the remote a while back and have been turning it on and off via the power switch, recently however it hasn't been switching on. 95% of the time pushing the power button does nothing (no lights at all), sometimes the ''white'' lights on the left flash on, and the power light flashes orange once or twice before everything goes dead. On the odd occasion it actually turns on and works fine until it needs to be turned off again. My initial guess is a faulty power button, but I was wondering if anyone has any familiarity with this issue before I take off the back panel and play around with my multimeter. I'm a Mechatronic engineer, so I'm reasonably familiar with electronics, but I don't have any test equipment.
I checked the main power switch (pulled it out and checked it with a multimeter), reinstalled and switched it back on - eventually got it powered up.
I bought a universal remote control and set it up - everything worked fine, tried turning the TV off and it went dead (standbye light went off) and I couldn't turn it back on again with the remote. It seems like the switch isn't the problem.I checked the main power switch (pulled it out and checked it with a multimeter), reinstalled and switched it back on - eventually got it powered up.

I have an LG as well. My troublshooing says: "Check the power control setting. The power supply may be interupted. Check if the Auto sleep feature is actiated in the Time settings. Refer to the " Sleep timer". If there is no signal while the TV is on, the TV will turn off automatically after 15 miutes or so"
Shudown,tv make alots of clicking noises too?Yes,mean the tv the Ballast board that help to ignite the tv projection lamp it is dead. How long the tv projection lamp been inside this tv already too?Like 2 years already?Change the tv projection lamp too.
Check to make sure that the lamp access cover is installed properly. There is a safety switch that prevents the tv from powering on while this cover is off. This may be true especially if the lamp was serviced recently or the tv was moved, power cord pulled etc.
There are several things that can cause it. You are best to
have an expert technician come in and take some test on it in order to
determine if it is from vertical blanking failure or something else. It is not
easy to fix this yourself, if you have no experience, because there are a lot
of parts that have to be removed before you can reach the components. It could
be as simple as a loose connector ribbon or a bust capacitor, but it could also
be more complicated. Hence, in my honest opinion, better get a qualified
technician.
With the set switched on and operating, hold down MENU button on the remote control and MENU button on TV chassis at the same time for about 10 seconds
