Installation software for Lexmark X75 All-In-One printer

My computer can't connect to my printer.It is a second hand printer and I didn't get software with it. Windows XP. Lexmark X75 All-In-One printer.

Lexmark has informed me that the x75 is discontinued and will not let me download the driver!

I have restarted and reconnected 4-5 times all wires and connections I could find, it did print a test page but will not print anything else. My pc keeps telling me to reconnect, restart, blah blah. It is second hand and I do not have the initial dtart up disk either, is there another way ?

Just type lexmark x75 installation software into google search and look for a site that has the software. A lot of sites have it but you just have to look around for it.

Well i have a windows vista and wanted to install a lexmark x75 and when i insert the installation software it says that there's an error

The reason why you receive that error when you try to install the software to you computer because this printer is not compatible with Vista and lexmark didn't create any software for Vista....

No communications computer to printer

With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into the USB port until told to do so.

To fix a fouled install:
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the software asks for the printer connect it and continue

Lexmark x75

You will be having a USB cable that connects the printer to your PC or notebook. I believe you have an internet connection that is always on. Once you connect the printer to the PC or notebook and if you have windows vista, the printer software will be automatically downloaded and installed. If you are not using Windows Vista, here are some links for the printer drivers.

Here are the drivers for your printer:

I'm not sure what operating system you have, but Lexmark doesn't have any drivers for Vista on this particular model.

Don't have the cd installation software

Here is the link to the drivers and software: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=228:1:0:616:0:0 You didn't specify which OS you have so after you connect to this site select you Operating System (OS) and then download the driver/s listed. They only listed X7500 and X7550. If this is not correct you simply need to search the site for a X75. I suggest you save the drivers in a folder you will create first then open the file. I.E.: 1.) make a folder named Lexmark X7500 on your desktop. 2.) Then download the file to it. 3.) Then open the folder and open the file. 4.) Follow the instructions it creates. You may need to buy the cd from Lexmark but as long as you have the drivers and any software they provide you should be OK.
