Continual fuzziness when I make a call or receive a call. It is so bad I cannot hear when I receive a call. The person who is either calling me or I am telephoning does not hear the problem so much. I have tried the troubleshooting ideas in the 'phone book but this does not help. My telephone is a BT Synergy 5500 Digital Cordless Handset plus Answering Machine which is not a recognised product.

Make sure that your phone's in call volume is not low or muted. In case it is fine, then the problem is with the microphone and it needs to be replaced. I'd suggest to get it replaced by some authorized person or good mechanic as it will require the dismantling of your phone and if you would do it without the experience, then you might break the cover.
The problem with your phone is that the earpiece of your phone is faulty that is why you cannot hear anything when someone calls you or when you call someone.
All you need to do is to change the earpiece of your phone in other for people to hear you when you make calls or when you receive calls.
The earpiece of your phone is bad that is why you cannot hear anything when you make calls, change the earpiece of your phone as advice and you will see that you will hear when people call you.
try to get a bluetooth nd synchronize it to the phone, or a earpiece that works with the phone so the people you are calling would be able to hear you.
the ribbon connector likes to crack in the hinge, go to cell phone doctor or similar and order a new ribbon wire. :) worked for me.....in the mean time you might be able to partially close the phone to hear them.
This problem I've had myself But it will only solve the problem if your cell uses a sim card. When the sim cards go bad thats whats happens your hear them but they can't hear you or vice-versa.
