Hi, Check your heating element.. A bad heating element causes many problems in dishwashers… if the heating element is okay then the motor is going bad...
Either the elemrnt or there is a thermistor on or near the element hosing.
At the back, unplug and disassemble elemrnt casing, when free from yhe unit.. inspect element. if ok.. then a silver dollare size item on the casing need replacing.
Put an Ohm meter accross this thermistor and see if it is open (1) on the scale
replace it, put it back together. Happy Drying
The E3 message on your Baumatic dishwasher is a malfunction of the temp sensor or the heating element. Test each part separately and replace the faulty part.
On the BDW13 Baumatic dishwasher I had the same problem, as I fix gas boilers I ohm tested the heating element, which was ok, I then tipped the machine on its side and took the bottom off, be careful, always disconnect the electric and water, underneath there are two thermostats, I know them as thermistors on a boiler, they screw into the brackets that hold the element in place inside the dishwasher, I unscrewed them after removing the wire connectors(pull off) I then ohm tested them and found one was an open circuit(faulty) the problem is, the one that was faulty is a non-self-resetting type, which means it has to be replaced once it has tripped, which is a real pain, the other one resets after it has cooled down.
