Re: My xbox360 dosent show any lights on power button
This could be that your hdmi cable is not inserted correctly, make sure that it is pushed fully into the console and the tv.

First check to see if the tray has closed compleatley
by waching the green blinking light on the power button . If the light continues to blink evan after the
tray has shut, that means the close switch has not
engaged . Eject the tray and then as it's closing give
it a firm push just as it closes to force it to engage
the close switch.
If that's not the problem then it's more then likley
you have a weak laser. They cost 20.00-30.00 new,
and there not that hard to replace .Or you can have
a shop swap it out for around 70.00-80.00
open it up ( very carefully) and check to see if the disk tray end is still attached or alligned to the plastic gears that eject the tray. if so check the rubber band to make sure it has not broke or streched.
this is a rare problem for a xbox360 but dont worry ill help you out as much as i can. try taking apart the 360 (but be very carefull bot to pull any wire or break somthing)it just might be dirty or disk reading problems. take the consle to a local game stop and get there opionion or just call microsoft and they'll help you out with a warenty.
That is how the X-Box works. It doesn't stay open, because if it stood open and it accidently dropped or anything, the drawer would break, and that would cause alot of problems with Microsoft. Thanks for using Fixya!
Hey I just found out how to UNLOCK the tray Power up the unit, wait for it to read the disc if one is inserted. hold the stop button and the power button down together for 5 seconds the display will show UNLOCKED Open/close button should be restored
To open the tray this is not a perfect fix, but it will allow to use it.
After the unit is powered on:
1)Hit the "Open/Close" button
2)Wait a while (you will get the timing down with practice)
3)Tap gently, yet briskly with fingertips at area in the attached pic, that the red arrow points to
I think the problem is that the tray becomes unbalanced somehow. Because when a DVD is in, the drive opens fine, only when there is no disc do you have to tap on the unit.
