My Tao xm2go quit working. I've tried re-setting it. I've replaced the battery, I double checked that the charger is putting out the correct voltage with a multi-meter. it won't turn on, either with the remote or by the power button on the unit. it doesn't indicate "battery charging" when I put it in the cradle. help! i like the unit and don't want to replace it.

Try plugging the power adapter directly into the bottom of the radio without using either base/cradle - wait a minute - then see if you get a battery indication.

My tao xm2go will not turn on

Dear Glen,

My Tao solution is to buy the Delphi MyFi which appears to have an identical interface. See page 10 here: http://file.xm411.com/manuals/MyFiUserGuide411.pdf . This is expensive but service in not available.

Tao XM2go shuts off for no reason

You could try taking the batteries out and cleaning the contacts, replacing the batteries and/or using sellotape to hold the batteries in place. They could be loose and disconnect when you move it in a certain way. If not the batteries, you could try further dismantling and cleaning, but you may just end up with a clean ball of sellotape that still has problems...! worth a try. stoodleysnow

High Pitched whine when using line out with car power adapter

I was ready to mention the car's alternator but you say the noise is there if the ignition is on or off. What type voltage adapter are you using? It sounds as if it's the culprit. If it's an inverter I could understand the noise being generated. Have you tried earthing ALL the components involved? Earthing problems can cause some mighty weird things to happen.\ Are you sure nothing else in the car is switched on? eg. another radio or something with an inbuilt oscillator. Try running the power for the adapter straight from the battery and put a noise filter in line. Are you turning the engine off but leaving the ignition switched on? Doing this can cause a noise from the fuel pump. Oh and make sure the antenna is correctly earthed. Apart from that, I'm stumped BMW
