In operative water dispenser.

GSS25WGPA BB GE side by side. Changed filter. Ice maker and dispencer work fine. No water through the water dispenser. Filter re-set flashes red for 3 sceonds but no green light. When water dispenser tab is pressed, you can hear a click or activation at the rear of the refrigerator. Removed new filter and it was full of water and was reinstalled. Still have the exact same conditions as listed above.

    Held the dispenser paddle down for more than a minute on several different times but no water. Also the filter reset same condition. I changed the filter because the old one had been in service for 1.5 years. It was still working fine. Thanks.

    I am having the same problem! The ice comes out fine, but the water dispenser will not work. press the paddle and a click, but no water. Tried the defrosing thing....did not work. Is there an electronic switch board or something that could be bad?

    Ran into same problem. Did exactly the same thing as "haregopal" and disconnected water line behind the bottom grill and it works down there. Conclusion: frozen water line somewhere in the freezer door. Going to try running the freezer at the warmest temp and see if it thaws.

    try holding down the water disp paddle for one min let me know what happens hold down the filter reset for about 3-6sec to reset but its just a light wont affect anything and did you change the filter because of the light or because you stopped getting water

I have GE side by side refrigerator - 2004 model GSH25SGRB SS. From the blog I found out the problem is with frozen water line. If I keep the door water would dispense ( thawing). Or if you disconnect at the bottom ( take the grill out and disconnect) the water would dispense.

I placed a call to GE. The service person came. He said GE could fix with a 3 watt heater. He opened the panel. Pasted a heater. It came in a Y shape form. He connected that to the internal wiring. After some time the water started working.

Part $40. Labor for 15 min work = $210. Total = $250.

This is really should be a recall case. No part broken. They had to design a heater to solve this problem. What a rediculus thing is this. I am trying to call GE and ask to refund.

What a cheat GE!!. F them.

Could be a frozen water lines. try defrosting it manually and check again for water after defrosting. water lines that gets too cold froze the water inside hindering the flow of water.

If your ice maker is working your filter is fine. You need to check the solenoid valve that feeds the water dispenser. You should have 2 of them on the water line. One that feeds ice maker and one that feeds the water dispenser. That is most likely your problem

Will not dispence water

My water dispensor INSIDE the door froze up.
I payed a repair guy $75 to use MY BLOWDRYER to "thaw" the frozen water line INSIDE the freezer door (below the water dispenser).

He said anytime the frozen food extends over the freezer shelf and touches the freezer door for a long enough period of time, the water line inside the door FREEZES!!

PREVENTION: "Keep some airspace between the door and frozen food."

Kenmore side by side water dispenser has stopped

Most likely need to replace the water inlet valve. The water supply line should be directly connected to it. There are 2 valves bracketed together, 1 for the ice maker and 1 for the water dispencer. You will probably have to buy both valves, but want to do this anyway as the second valve will fail soon. Hope this helps.

check the water valve on the back of the ref. it sends water to the ice maker and water in the door one can work and the other one not

Take the icemaker out and let it sit in the sink for around 12 hours. Then put it back in. This has worked for me when I have the same problem. I think that the water line is freezing up. I have to do this every month or two.

The water line freezes inside the freezer door. There is now an add-on water line heater you can install to thaw the line.

Door dispenser stopped dispensing, starting making a constant clicking and now the entire fride isn't working

We had the same problem. Our frigerator is 1.5 year old. Everytime we try to dispence water or ice the dispencer clicks and the whole thing turns of. We had a GE repairman come by: the electronic board needs to be replaced: total cost $350. (cost of the board only: $150. We are considering disconnecting the dispencer by unplugging the board (according to the repain man the ice maker wil still work)or buy a new refrigurator (for sure NO GE!!!!!!)
