Dishwasher will not go thru wash cycles

I have full power going to dishwasher.  When I turn it on it fills with water but it wont run thru the cycles even though I can hear the timer going through its cycles. Once the timer has finished it will not drain. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Hotpoint HDA2000 has worked before. It now fills with water but nothing else happens. And I don't know what to do to drain the water.

I have a kenmore built-in dishwasher. It fills with water and then it stops. It will not wash. It then will go thru the other cycles and then will say its clean. When I open the door it is still full of water.

If the water is not draining at all in any of the cycle it is probably the discharged line at the bottom of the pump has become blocked. there is an access panel at the bottom of the dishwasher which will allow you access the line. take the line off of the fitting , use a set of vise grips to remove the fitting from the base of the pump. You will probably find corn or rice lodged in the diaphragm within the fitting, remove debris and reinsert the fitting and hose. Hopefully this is helpful to you.

SOURCE: Dishwasher will not go thru wash cycles

Hi
You have a problem which will need some knowledge of how the machine works and some test meter. There may be a problem with the motor. It may not beworking, jammed or dead -burnt out.The motor does the work after the water-cold,hot or medium-has entered.
The timer-you say works- will connect power to the motor to do its job, power to solonoid for the valves to open at the right time to let water in and out-pushed out by the motor.Remove the water with a cup and rags from the machine and then see if the motor turns by hand. This may mean you have to get under the machine.ALL WAYS REMOVE THE POWER CORD AT THE WALL POWER OUTLET--Jay

How to run self test on bosche dishwasher

Here is an excerpt from "Bosch Dishwasher Troublesoooting".

Running a Test Cycle
Bosch dishwashers have a test cycle which can be run as a troubleshooting measure. The method to run this test cycle is similar across the Bosch dishwasher range so if your dishwasher features seems different from those described below then try experimenting, as the process is fairly straight forward and will be very similar. Bosch dishwasher model numbers are usually found around the top or lip of the door. One of the most common differences between dishwasher models is simply the names of the buttons. For example in the first example below, POWER SCRUB PLUS and REGULAR WASH may be called WASH and ECO depending on your dishwasher model and the country you are in. The other key difference is whether your dishwasher has a display panel (which can display error codes) or not (in which case a program light will illuminate to tell you the fault.
To run the test cycle hold down the POWER SCRUB PLUS and REGULAR WASH buttons. Whilst held down press the ON/OFF button. The lights above them should flash. Now you can check the status of each dishwasher program by pressing its button. Now you can run the full test cycle = Press the POWER SCRUB PLUS and REGULAR WASH buttons again. The dishwasher will start up and when the cycle has ended one, if you have no display panel on your dishwasher model the indicator lights will illuminate if a malfunction was detected as follows -
CLEAN - A temperature sensor fault. If this is the case then the test cycle will be very short as the dishwasher will terminate the test once it's been detected.
RINSE/DRY - A water sensor/filling fault. If this is the problem then the test cycle will not complete as the dishwasher cannot detect the right level of water, the dishwasher will just keep filling and draining again.
WASH - A heating fault. Check your heating element.
If you do have a display panel on your Bosch dishwasher then after the cycle is complete an error code will be shown if a fault has been detected. The error codes are as follows -
0 - No errors have been detected.
1 - A water sensor/filling fault.
2 - A heating fault.
4 - A water filling fault. This can also appear as F on the display during a normal cycle.
8 - A temperature sensor fault.
When troubleshooting your Bosch dishwasher, running the above test cycle is a good start in diagnosing the problem and should give you an idea of where the problem lies with your Bosch dishwasher and what fixes and repair are in order. Our general troubleshooting page will give you some ideas on other things to check on your dishwasher. Good luck!

Why doesn't my Fisher Pakel dishwasher drawer not clean the dishes anymore?

No water Entering Dishwasher

Check to make sure water is entering the dishwasher do this by starting a wash cycle wait for it to fill and start washing then open door. If there is no water you will need to check the water inlet valve and the float switch. This video will walk you through checking both out. Click on links to see a photo tutorial of replacing those parts.

Low Water level

This is another common problem. To check that you have the proper water level you will need to turn dishwasher to a wash cycle wait for it to fill, when it starts washing stop and open the door. Now refer to the tech sheet or service manual for the proper water leve. They usually refer to a fixed point in the dishwasher or to a specific measurement. This ensures that your dishwasher has enough water to wassh properly. If your water level is low you will need to check the water inlet valve and the float switch. The video will walk you thru inspecting and testing these components. The links will lead you thru a photo tutorial on replacing these parts.

Wash Arms

First check to see if they are moving. To do this start dishwasher into a wash cycle wait for it to fill and start washing open door and rotate wash arms to a certain position remeber this position then close the door let run for a few seconds and open door. If they are not moving check to see if they turn freely if not replace. Next remove the spray arms and check for clogged holes. If all looks clear you will need to check that the circulating pump is not clogged up or has failed.

Drain Problem

This is one of the most common reasons. To check open door after a cycle and check to see if any water is standing inside. If there is you have a drain issue. Could be the high loop or air gap is not correct. The drain may have a clog. The drain pump may have failed. The drain pump can be checked for the proper ohm reading (refer to tech sheet). If it is out of specification replace the pump. Check to see if the drain pump is getting power. If the drain pump is getting power but not running you will need to replace. If it is running but still leaving water behind you will need to remove the drain pump and check/replace for obstructions.

Control

This is the least likely cause.Check to make sure it goes to each cycle for the proper amount of time. The main control or Timer has a pre determined amount of time programmed into it. This determines how much time to spend at each cycle. The time is usually printed on the tech sheet. The tech sheet is located somewhere on your dishwasher. It could be behind the front panel, behind the console, behind the toe kick, somewhere on the sides. If it does not stay at each cycle for the proper lenght of time you will need to replace the control.

Bosch smu4096ud /14 dishwasher wont fill with water

Find out where the water is being stopped. Firstly at the wall. Then maybe at the solenoid (depending on the model) and then just trace the water line until you find out where it's being stopped.
Also I would recommend you run some nickel safe ice machine cleaner through the system to get rid of the 'white junk'.

Dishwasher is not cleaning dishes.

you need to check to see what the temps of you water going into the unit is. it needs to be atleast 120 degrees. if not your unit may be waiting to heat the water, until it does then it wont go into the next cycle. it could be the heat cycle is not working so that would cause the unit to not advance.
let the unit run thru the place you think its stopping, but not more then 2 hours. if its not advancing then you might have a bad heating element.

Kitchenaid double-drawer dishwasher will not start

i just installed a used dishwasher. It filled up with water then stopped. The lights are still on as far as the cycles but nothing is happening. I did the factory diagnostic test and the service diagnostic test, not sure how long each test was supposed to take because after it seemed to go through each cycle by the lights on the front nothing else happened. I waited over 30minutes because I didn't know how long this was going to take. When all the lights on the front went out I tried to turn it on like to run a wash cycle and nothing is happening and the bottom is still full on water. HELP!!
