Question about KitchenAid Artisan Series Tilt-Head Stand Mixer
Hi,
My Kitchen Aid mixer works fine, except that I just tried to attach the ice cream maker dasher and it won't go on because the bolt on the mixer behind the normal spindle is pushed out to one side...any suggestions?I tried tapping it back to the other side with a small hammer, but it didn't budge.
If the bolt is the hinge pin that the head swivels on when tilting it up, it can be pushed back in when the head latch is released and the mixer head is lifted slightly.

I had the same problem. I tried hitting the pin in and it wouldn't go at first then I got a hammer and a large screwdriver. I placed the screw driver on the pin and hit the screw driver with the hammer quite hard and the pin did go in. The dasher now fits. It is just a friction fit thought it would have been a bit better but hopefully it will work now.

I have had my mixer for years, and the pin in the planetary has always stuck out of one side a little bit. This wasn't actually a problem until I tried to attach the paddle for the ice cream maker attachment. I have tried to tap it back into place with no luck. Am I doing something wrong? should I try to tap it through in the direction it's already headed and try to re-insert it?
