That is the non return valve which sits in the sump of the unit. you will have to purchase this from Miele spare parts. No other place sells Miele parts.

I'm pretty sure Appliance Art can help you. They sell stainless steel panels for dishwashers that can have the front panel replaced and they sel faux stainless for the dishwashers that don't. They were just on DIY network, HGTV, and the Today show. www.applianceart.com
In the bottom of the dishwasher you have a filter. under the filter is a non return valve. it is a one way valve that keeps the dirty drain water from draining back into the dishwasher. if it is dirty or broken, the dirty water that your machine drains out, is running right back in as soon as the drain pump shuts off. this will keep happening and your dishwasher will just spray the dirty water back on the dishes over and over again.
to get to it, you will need to get the water out of the machine. if you have a wet dry shop vac use that. if not, you can bail it out with a cup, and soak the rest up with a sponge. remove the lower spray arm by pulling it up. remove the filter by pulling the handle in the direction of the arrow. lift the filter out of the way. get the rest of the water out of the sump. on the left side of the sump, you will see a silver wire bail holding the non return valve in. flip the bail towards the center of the sump. pull up and out on the non return valve. it has a rubber seal and a stainless steel ball inside. any debris between the seal and the ball will keep the valve from closing all the way, and allow the water to drain back. you can order a replacement if needed, directly from miele. 1800 842 7231.

Hi dear.It sounds like your machine have faulty bearing on main wash pump.That bearing can worn out it self or there is a leakage on impeller housing,that leakage can cause harsh chemical to get in to the front bearing of motor & damage it.Your machine should be under warranty,call Miele service in your country.I hope that helps.Thanks.

Hello. Not all dishwashers have multiple panels which you can interchange. However, you always have two other options. One is to paint the white cover with stainless steel spray paint. You can do this yourself with spray cans available from home depot, or you can remove the door and take it to an autobody shop to have it professionally done.
you can also have a piece of stainless sheet metal cut to size at a metal fabricating shop and use a construction adhesive to attach it to the front of your dishwasher, using stainless outside corner trim to finish the job.
