If you have lost the password to access the router page then you have to reset the router

Ensure that you have all the details regarding your internet connection before resetting the router

If you reset the router you can run the smart setup wizard and get connected by entering correct information in all the pages of the wizard

If you are looking for the wireless password:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Access your router page ( Open Internet Explorer --> Type 192.168.1.1 and enter it--> Login name(default)-admin, Password(default)-password) --> GO to wireless settings, under Wireless settings you will find the wireless password.

I need to set up a new laptop for WIFI but do not know my password or paraphrase or how to do this for my Netgear WGT624. Thanks for your help.

sometimes the defult will be the word (admin) unless you setup a password when you first installed the router. Sometimes you might have a reset pin like hole in order to reset the defaults on your router. you may also go the NETGEARS website and see what the default password is for your model NetGear.

Lost instalation cd for netgear router

You can actually setup the router without using the CD. Just hard reset hte router first, you can see it at the back of the router. Hold it down for about 30 seconds then unplug the power to the router and the modem. Wait for about 30 seconds before you plug it back in. Make sure the modem is connected to the WAN port of the router and the PC to port 1.

How to install a wireless router without cd

You can download the device drivers from NetGears own website @ http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGT624.asp you will need to select the EXACT model( version you have - this can be found on the stamp underneath the router that has all those barcodes on) and download the latest drivers for yours. by doing this it will trigger 1 of 2 responses:

1. You have the latest version, no update is needed

2. You must setup your device before updating drivers. to do this please select OK

1 - Will trigger an auto setup of the device.
2 - Will take you through the setup wizard itself

which depends on how your router was shipped. If you have brought the router 2nd hand then you can obtain a new setup disc free of charge via the same site if neither of the above work.

For future ref: PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR 'FULL' ROUTER INFO-Different models of the same router can work quite differently and you may not get a best fix without it

Best Regards

Need to add a new laptop onto my wireless router wgt624 v.3

By default, Netgear uses admin and password. The username is always admin, the password is the only thing that changes. If it's not that, there is always the reset button in the back of the unit.
