If you feel confident enough to open up the ds check ribbon cable is tightly in the connector, the clasp that hold the cable has a littke brown flip hinge on it and is quite fragile so take care.
You will have to gentley push the screen up towards you to find the riibon cable connecter. If the cable seems fine then the screen probably needs changing, but the screen is made up 2 parts, the screen and the touch screen membrane which lies on top and held in place by a bit of adhesive.
You have to seperate them by gently prizzing them apart, if you dont feel confident doing this you can buy replacement bottem screens fully made up, but it would be a shame to do this as the touch mambrane part of the screen seems like it is working. hope this helps a bit and good luck
