Question about Kodak EasyShare Z740 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Pictures taken can be reviewed in the camera. But,

We have a Kodak Easyshare Z740. Pictures taken can be reviewed in the camera. But, pictures loaded in the sd card from the computer cannot be reviewed in the camera. This just recently became an issue. We have tried 2 different sd cards to confirm this. Please advise what can be done. Thank you.

The pictures have been taken by this camera and stored in the computer. We are looking to use the camera to view pictures on a tv using the cable that came with the camera. However once pictures are loaded back onto the sd card, they do not register in the review mode.

Are the pictures in question taken by the camera? Most cameras will not display pictures that have been taken by a different model.

It's a one way street...from camera to computer...not the other way around. Doing it that way will eventually corrupt the card and sometimes even the camera.

How do I transfer pictures from SD card to computer

you could use an external memory card reader, or you could install the easy share software that came with your camera on a disk, or download it from Kodak (after registering your camera) here:
KODAK Support
After you installed (and only then) you can connect the camera and the software will allow you not only to down load the pictures, you also can manage them with the software in folders and so on.

Kodak easyshare Z740 compatible with mac? Since I've upgraded my MAC software to 10.6.6 EasyShare does not down load images from my camera. what's up?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

I have pictures on a memory card but when I put it in the camera and turn it on it says there is no card there.

Double check first if you are using a recommended card for your camera Z740. The recommended card for your camera are those SD/MMC card 1gb to 2gb card.

SDHC Card 4 GB SanDisk will not format. get

The Z740 uses SD cards, not SDHC cards. SDHC cards will physically fit into the card slot but are not compatible. It's a hardware incompatibility, not updatable in firmware. You'll have to stay with 2GB and smaller SD cards.

Doesn't recognize memory card. I had an Eye Fi wireless memory card installed and now it's totally blank and the camera doesn't recognize it. Tried a regular SD memory card, and the camera doesn't...

Your camera is only supporting SD/MMC Cards (up to 2 GB)

The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.
You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK

Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

Dropped camera, SD card came out. Took 2 more pictures, camera turned off. Replaced batteries, camera turns on and then back off.

I may be able to help with your Kodak EasyShare Z740 that turns itself off.

It may be a 'lens extending' problem, or it might be fixed with a combination of button presses to reset it while turning it on.

Try these steps to fix your camera.

I hope that helps.

Transferring pictures from computer to camera

Hi Mike. The only way I can think to do this, is with an separate card reader. Then you could take your SD card and load back and forth, from your computer to camera (and vice versa).

hope this helps!
