Go to "applications"

Select "prefs"

Select "touchscreen"

Tap the targets on the screen as precisely as possible, then select "done"

NOTE: you need to tap at least 3 targets - maybe more if you don't tap carefully.

I can not sync

HI,
The first thing you need to do is to reinstall the palm desktop software to make sure you have the most up to date version. After you do that try doing a hard reset. You want to make sure you have everything backed up from your PDA to your desktop because when you do the hard reset it is going to erase everything on the PDA and restore to just like it was brand new. You will have to reset the time and city and calibrate the screen by tapping the little targets.

To do the hard reset follow these instructions:

1. Hold down the power button and then depress the small hole in the back with the tip of your stylus2.gif.

2. Continue to hold them both in until you see the Palm logo.

3. Let go of both of them and then follow the onscreen directions. You will want to answer yes and use the 5 way navigation button on the bottom of your pda and hit up so that is completes the reset. After that you will have to set up your touch screen2.gif and go through the tapping the target. After you have gone through all this then do a hotsync. It should clear up your problem. Best wishes.

HotSync problem:connection could not be

After you change the battery you need to do a hard reset. This will erase all the info in your pda so you want to make sure you have it all backed up on the palm desktop To do a hard reset follow these steps:

1. Hold down the power button.
2 While holding down the power button, use the tip of the stylus and inset it into the hole in the back of your pda and gently press and release the reset button in the back of your pda.
3. When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your hand held select continue.
4. When prompted follow the online directions to align the screen. After that you will want to do another hot sync. Best wishes.

I cannot sync my Palm Tungsten E with MS Outlook.

  1. Step 1 Install the Palm Tungsten software. This software is required in order to sync Palm Tungsten with Outlook Express. To install the software, place the CD-ROM in your PC and follow the on screen instructions.
  2. Step 2 Use the HotSync cable included with your Palm to plug into the USB port of your PC. You will then plug the other end of the cable into your Palm Tungsten.
  3. Step 3 Open the HotSync Manager program on your PC through the "Start" menu or clicking on the icon. You can manage the different programs available for synchronization through this program. Select Microsoft Outlook as one of the applications that you want synched onto your Palm Tungsten.
  4. Step 4 Turn on the Palm Tungsten. You will see a star icon on the menu of your PDA. Tap this star with your stylus to start syncing Microsoft Outlook Express. A dialog box will appear on your PC during the process to know the progress of the synchronization.
  5. Step 5 Unplug the cable from your PC and Palm Tungsten once the sync is completed. As the Palm resets, you will now notice that Microsoft Outlook Express is available on the PDA.

Zire 72 Won't Sync Notes

I feel your pain as I'm having even more problems than you, see my post. However, having learned quite a bit about this topic, I suggest ensuring the Hot Sync is set for the desktop to overwrite the PDA as opposed to PDA overwriting the desktop, which sounds like what's happening. That's the only suggestion I have. Hope it works out for you.
