I put away my camcorder for the winter and i recently took it back out in order to review some old tapes but it keeps flashing the triangle with the line under it and beeping. when i pull out the door to eject the other door does not come out, also when i put it in record mode it is zoomed all the way in and wont zoom out. i really need help!

I had a problem the same as yours and I found the problem on the ribbon wire connected to the board where all the control button is located ( stop, rew, play, fwd pause). The problem occur because everytime you eject the tape from the loading mechanism the ribbon wire also move like your cutting it into pieces. sorry for my english hope you get the idea.... wait for the photo and i'll show you what i mean.. hope this will give you the solution you need.

sad to say that the problem of your camera is the timing gear is already damage....it need to disassembly the camera to fix the timing gear....go to the qualified service center for fixing or replacing the timing gear..

I've been researching this for hours. I have the same problem. Took it to a repair shop today that would charge me $250 to replace the whole tape mechanism. Finally, I tried the whack trick. I gave the camera a good firm smack on the right side, and voila, now it works! I'm going to tranfer everything to DVD ASAP!

Smack the bottom of the camera with the palm of your hand and it will unstick the zoom. Worked for me!
