Hello,
Borrow an installation Cd of your OS. Configur your computer to boot from CD.
Boot from CD, Choose (R) repair option. The recovery Console appears. Enter the number (1, 2 or other) that corresponds to the partition the system detected. If you see only one installation then you enter 1. You will then be asked to log in as administrator by supplying the password you entered whwn you installed.
When the C:\> prompt appears type
COPY [your_file_name] [SPACE BAR] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ [your_file_name]
After that Press [CTRL][ALT][DEL] to restart.

It should copy the missing file and you will be able to reboot.

Hope it helps

WONT START - SAYS WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

Hi,
See if you can borrow an installation cd from a friend. DO NOT use an OEM disc or one supplied by dell...compaq etc because they use different passwords and stuff.

Then go into system repair console. Check on google to go from there.

Windows xp corrupted

This is supposed to be caused by some missing registry entries in your windows installation. Not exactly sure why this is happening. May be you have some important files that cannot be copied due to a damaged CD. Microsoft replaces the media for you so that you can try installing using the replacement. Click here for more details
