Hi have a problom when i put game in ps3 it wont

Delet the game data and saved games for that game. put disc in and run
it should reinstall.

I had the exact same issue with my PS3 in the past (it was a launch model too). Basically one of the diodes on the disk lesne burned out (this is a really rare occurance) and basically made the whole disk lense usless.

Sadly the only way to repair a faulty disk lense is by getting it to official tech support. You could try ordering the replacement parts and having it repaired by a third party or yourself but this is not recommended since it voids the PS3 warranty.

This problem is common with the PS3 and typical of a failure of the bluray drive. It can sometimes be resolved by cleaning the laser pickup lens but often the lens itself needs to be replaced.

Have same problem, contacted careline, they are collecting and repairing console.

Im pretty sure you need to replace the laser

Bluray laser is dead!
sent to Sony for repair under warranty(luckily)
they sent to Mexico for cheap repair.
still waiting for return

ya i cant get my 40gb ps3 to work i was playin a game it went to a loading screen and it stayed there so i turned it off then turned it back on and now it wont play the game i can still get on the internet though
