SOURCE: HO2 error code at screen

In line with the other Panansonic DVD players, the error seems to relate to the internal drive machanism getting stuck.

To fix you just need to carefully take the back off (disconnect power source first!), locate the drive cogs for the lens machanism and give the a couple of turns. Also a blast from a air can will help get rid of any dust build up. Pop the back cover back on and you should be working.

Looking at the other Panasonic threads on the site, this may happen on a regular basis especially as the unit gets older (and the crud builds up).

Hi,
Before to apply BFH method as it is final and ultimate fix for these things, unplug unit from wall socket, take off top cover of DVD-CV51and clean optical lens with good quality cotton swab gently and check DVD-CV51 as dirty/ clogged optical lens does not read one disc and player go for next disc to read it and gives up after trying all discs.
Hope this info will solve your dvd player problem.

Filed under: Tech 2 weeks ago my Panasonic DVD-RV41 DVD player showed an error HO2 which more or less means the unit is shot. The problem centers round a spindle issue that is a known design flaw. Basically what happens is that the spindle gets warm, expands, and is then pushing on the top of the player .

I guess either the tape head is dirty and needs cleaning or you should email Panasonic with that question after reading the instruction guide's troubleshooting section.

Panasonic DVD-LX9 "disc may not be played in your region" error

Try cleaning the lens with a cleaner?
So it only reads music/Audio CDs and won't play DVDs?
Do you get an HO2 or HO7 error? If it is that it might be
the spindle motor.

You might try this website also to reflash the firmware:
