Question about Black & Decker PI400AB Power Inverter
There is a fuse to replace inside the body of the Black & Decker P1400AB adapter that plugs into the 12v outlet of my car, but I can't open the body. There is a screw that I removed, but the body still won't come apart.
If it is the fuse inside the cigarette lighter plug, just unscrew it and put a new fuse in.
If you mean replacing the two 25amp fuses inside the inverter housing, you can bypass the fuses by soldering the two sides together. Or, if you want to put new fuses in, heat the solder holding the fuses in until they pop out and insert new ones.
As for opening the housing, good luck!! I ended up using steel cutters to rip off the plastic. The best option would be to buy a new one and return the old one in the package.

In the tip that goes into the cigarette lighter there's a diamond plated section just below the spring loaded tip. It may take some effort (pliers) but it unscrews and the fuse is between the spring and the tip.

Lift the two side of the sticker of the power button and indicator lights to unscrew the two tiny screws to remove the top black plastic bracket of the inverter. next unscrew all the side 4 corners and remove the soldered wire from the outlet then u can easily slide out the pcb parts of the inverter. hope that would help you.
