HP Pavilion dv4ee LCD problem

I have an HP Pavilion dv4ee notebook which I bought in Dubai last March 2009. About a month and a half ago, I haven't used it for about a week. When I came back and by the time I started using it, I noticed a blinking white line at the bottom of my screen. I get so annoyed and it distracts me everytime I use my HP notebook. However, recently, I tend to use it for a long period of time, about 8 hours a day. When I'm about to turn it off, the blinking white line tends to show in slow intervals and until it totally disappears. What is the problem with my LCD? is it just a loose connection because in my opinion it improves in some way when my notebook is all heated up after a day's work or does it really need LCD replacement?

Removing back cover of hp dv 6915nr

Back Cover?

1) Display Cover: The plastic cover that is on the opposite side of the LCD screen. Sometimes referred to as Top Cover.

Display Assembly is removed from laptop first, then LCD screen assembly is removed from the Display Cover.

2) Base Enclosure: The plastic bottom part of the notebook.
A laptop is disassembled from the Top down to the Bottom.

The bottom 'cover' (Base Enclosure) is not removed first. It is last.

3) There is no back cover per se. Half of the cover for the back (Bottom half) is part of the Base Enclosure. The top half is part of the Palm Rest.

(The back has the Vent in it)

[Use the dv6700 service manual. Go down to the subheading HP Pavilion dm1 (dm1 is in blue)
Scroll to the right, click on dv6700. Note that it is a PDF file, and may take up to 30 seconds, before you see the first page come up ]

What is it you are trying to do? What hardware component are you trying to access?

Display assembly is removed. Palm Rest Cover is removed, and so on.

A thin line appears in the display

It could be the video card or the LCD display is going bad. I would suggest contacting HP support regarding this matter. Hopefully you registered it with them when you bought it. Most computers have a one year warranty from the manufacturer. Did you buy an extended warranty with this machine? If you have an extended warranty from the place you bought it, contact them.

My hp pavilion

Hi,
No, that's a very nice machine. Sounds like software trouble. Can you backup all your files and restore from the recovery p[artition? That would be the easiest.
Good luck
