The Sky box itself has instructions and model-specific codes:
Press Interactive > Sky Customer Service > Your Sky Remote.
All this info and how to program the remotes can now be found ON the sky system via interactive, 5, 5.
Sky Digibox Remote Control Codes I NEED TO FIND THE CODE TO MY LG TV MODEL 50PQ2000 - digirem.jpg This page contains all known codes for TV sets. Sky television codes. It includes setting-up procedures for early remotes, later remotes and Sky-plus remotes. The codes also apply to the Open keyboard .
The original Digibox remote might be programmed to control your TV set, provided that your TV was built before 1999. Later revisions (see label inside battery compartment) include later TV model codes but drop some very early ones. Sky collects new codes from TV manufacturers and stores them in its database. Every couple of years, Sky gives these codes to the remote manufacturer and a new revision remote will appear on the market. The remote includes BASIC functions such as up/down, volume and number keys. it *might* also include special functions such as text, but don't count on it. See accessories Catalogue for Digibox remotes.

NEED SKY CODE FOR AKURA APL3221W-HDID

Firstly you may need to identify which version of remote control you have, versions that are dated pre 2002 may not operate the more modern TV's and a new remote control will be needed see:New Remote Control Prices . To see which version you have, open the battery cover on the back of the Sky remote and look at the text on the sticker it will state 'Sky rev' (or Sky+ rev or Sky HD rev), followed by a number, such as 4, 6 or 8. This number indicates the version of your Remote Control.
Version 1: August 1998
Version 2: December 1999
Version 4: May 2001 (Sky+ introduced)
Version 6: March 2004
Version 8: January 2006 (includes all current Sky+HD remote controls)

Programming the remote control
To control your TV firstly switch on the TV set, point the Sky remote at the TV, press the "TV" button on the Sky remote, then press and hold the "Select" and "Red" buttons together until the red light at the top of the Sky remote control flashes twice. Enter the code for the TV listings below (Use the 4 digit codes from the left hand column), the red light will flash twice if a valid code has been entered. Press the standby button on the Sky remote control, this should switch the TV set off, if so then press the "Select" button to store the settings. You should now be able to switch the TV back on and use the volume control button from your Sky remote.
If the TV did not switch off then it may require a different code, you can either start again using one of the alternative Direct codes below or continue with this process by continuously pressing "TV" then "Standy" then "TV" then "Standby" etc until the TV set switches off. This will provide a manual scan for variations within that product code.

If you are still unable to control your TV from the remote control see: Programming The Sky Remote or go to Sky's official website where you can see if a particular remote control version number will operate your make of TV, this can be found at: Sky please remember to use your back button.

I need a code for sky remote control for LG tv model no.M198WA

Hi,

The correct code - or whether there is any code - depends which version of Sky remote you have. This can be found on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The Sky info for your TV is somewhat confusing. Sky have an exact match for your TV model number but if you have the RC1600/00 remote, Rev 4 or Rev remote, they do not list any codes. If you have the Rev 8 remote, they list the following codes: 0206 1293 1280

However, despite listing codes for the Rev 8 they also state that "these codes are not available for your version of the Sky remote" - confused? I am.

So, I suggest you try the above codes regardless of which Sky remote version you have and if they do not work, also try the generic codes for LG TVs for each version of the Sky remote:

Rev 4: 0065 0742 0502 0672 0634 0136
Rev 6: Same as Rev 4
Rev 8: 1293 1177 1206 0206 0065

Basically, I suggest you try all of the codes above regardless of which version of Sky remote you have, including RC1600/00. There's a good chance one of them will control the volume and standby functions.

If none of the above codes work, please post back, let me know which version of the Sky remote you have and I will try to assist you further.

Do you know the sky+ remote code? So I can operate the volume control on the sky+ remote. I've tried loads already hope you can help.

Hi,

It would help to know the model number of your LG TV. However, you can try the generic codes for LG which I've listed here:

Rev 8 remote: 1293, 1206, 0206, 0065, 0904
Rev 6 remote: 0065, 0742, 0502, 0672, 0634, 0136,
Rev 4 remote: Same as Rev 6
RC1600/00 remote: codes not available and unlikely to work with your TV

** Your Sky remote version can be found on a sticker inside the battery compartment. **

Try these codes but if they don't work, please post back with your TV model number. It's possible that your remote does not have a code which will work with your TV, in which case, you will need to use the remote supplied with your TV to control volume and power functions. Unfortunately, when a TV is newer than the remote and uses a new flash pattern not programmed into that remote, the remote wont work. However manufacturers often keep the same flash patterns for common functions, so the generic codes might work for you.

I'm informed that a new Sky remote version is due but I've not been able to confirm this yet.

Hope this helps - please post back if you need further assistance.

I have just purchased an LG32lcd 450 tv, I cannot get the handset on Sky to work as they do not have a code to do this as the tv is new to the market, can you please help with this

Hi,

OK, as you already discovered there is no specific code for your remote. You can try the generic codes for LG which I've listed below. Your TV may use the same flash patterns as some other older LG TVs so these codes might work.

Try these codes but if they don't work it's unlikely your remote will work with your TV - you will need to use the remote supplied with your TV to control volume and power functions. Unfortunately, when a TV is newer than the remote and uses a new flash pattern not programmed into that remote, the remote wont work. However manufacturers often keep the same flash patterns for common functions, so the generic codes might work for you.

I'm informed that a new Sky remote version is due - which will hopefully contain a specific code/flash pattern for your TV - but I've not been able to confirm this yet.

Hope this helps - please post back if you need further assistance.

We have loads of codes for sky remote control. Do you know which code will enable us to switch the tv off and do the sound control. At present we have to use two controls. TV remote to switch on and...

OK,

This really depends on which brand/model of TV you have and which Sky remote version. The code you need is specific to the brand/model of TV.

The Sky remote version is printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The older Sky remotes will have "RC1600/00" on the sticker. Newer versions will also have either "Rev 4", "Rev 6", or "Rev 8" on the sticker.

If you have a new TV and an older Sky remote (i.e. before Rev 8) your remote may not work with your TV and you will need to buy a new Sky remote if you want to operate TV and Sky box with one remote.

Please post back with your Sky remote version number and your TV brand and EXACT model number. I will then be able to provide codes for your remote and programming instructions.

Thanks.

Sky remote code for lg television model no.32pg6000 to programe remote controll on sky remote

Code is 1293 if you're using a Rev 8 remote control. You can check this on the sticker in the battery compartment.

If you are using an older Sky remote Rev 6, Rev 4 or plain old RC1600/00 then it's unlikely to work as these remotes aren't programmed to control your TV. You are welcome to try though ;)

Please post back if you need instructions on programming the remote.

Please rate this solution if you find it helpful. Thanks.

SKY REMOTE NOT WORKING WITH MY NEW LG 42LH3000

To use sky+ remote control with LG 42LH3000 you must have a rev ver8 remote controller.
The codes are stored in a database of the Sky remote. If the old codes don't work
you may need to buy the latest Sky remote. Otherwise it is a matter of waiting for the
new Sky remote which may have the updated codes.
Note: LG Support supplied the following for Rev.8: 0206, 1293, 1665, 1174, 1176, 1219, 1280, 0857, 0851.

Version 1: August 1998

Version 4: May 2001 (Sky+ introduced)
Version 6: March 2004
Version 8: January 2006 (includes all current Sky+HD remote controls)
