Probably a poor suggestion, but you may want to look for a reset button on the back or the front. It is usually recessed and about the diameter of a paperclip. The electronics may be "confused".

My motherboard slow boot and always need disc to boot .

Looks like your computer can't find an Operating System in your hard disk. May be the hard disk is dead. You should check hard disk connection cables, and if they're working, we'd have to assume that the hard disk should be replaced.

To reset the BIOS password: You can sometimes remove and then replace the CMOS battery, other times this may not work.
The CD not booting: Did you burn the CD as an ISO (image file cd) or just a regular data CD? My guess is that is was not burned as an ISO which it needs to be to boot.

If you restart the computer after inserting the disc 1 in the tray and the computer does not boot with the disc. then restart again and keep tapping F9 key and it will ask you to boot from cd/dvd rom so select it and press enter and it will boot with the cd. It might ask you to press any key to boot from cd. You may press any key on the keyboard at the very moment you see the message.

I try to boot my computer from a windows 98 disc, but it won't lo

Hi matthewbugbe,

I think what that means is it does not recognize your hard drive. If you are trying to install Windows 98 you should format your drive first.

Can't extract files on System Recovery Disc 4 for Compaq Presario model 6350US

At this point, you can try to clean your disk # 4 and see what happen,
or try to make a copy of disk # 4 (if you can copy the disk) and try again.

or

1) Contact your customer support and ask for a new set of disks.(or only # 4)

or

2) Boot your computer with another OS disk (win XP)

or

3) Boot your computer with some utility disk

Not booting up

Unfortunately you Windows OS crashed. Try pressing the F8 once you boot up. It should lead you to an option screen where you will be choosing SAFE MODE only. If you can boot up to windows under safemode you can do system restore or uninstall the program you just installed.

If you can't go into safe mode. Use the recovery disc. Pop disc 1 then upon booting the computer, press F12 to load boot menu then choose the dvd/cd drive. Once it finished loading, choose advanced option instead of Toshiba recovery wizard and it will lead you to system restore.

If both of the steps failed, unfortunately, you need to do full system recovery. Just do step 2 and choose Toshiba recovery Wizard, Out of the box state. This will delete all your data.

hope this helps.
