Hello, D_curry751 -

It will help in directing to the best source for you for purchasing carbon brushes for your Hoover washing machine, if you indicate the country where you reside. You can add that information in the Comment box.

Note: Questions come into Fixya.com from all over the world and it can be hard to guess what the best resource for the right information.

Without knowing the country of your residence, I did find Hoover washing machine carbon brushes sold online (USA web sites):

eBay:
https://www.ebay.com/b/Hoover-Washer-Dryer-Carbon-Brushes/99697/bn_5864242

Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Washing-Machine-Brushes-09036062/dp/B00EO4QZAW

These are United Kingdom websites selling Hoover washing machine carbon brushes:

E40 fault on zanussi washing machine is it worth repairing or to buy a new one 8-9 yrs old ?

A Zanussi E40 error usually indicates "Door open.Check interlock and associated wiring check door latch, check module and connections." However, what most people don't know is that most manufacturers route the poser to the door interlock through the same curcuit that powers up the carbon brushes on the motor. So if your motor brushes are worn down, the door won't lock. Your machine is about the right age for its brushes to be worn out, so I would check this out first. Motor brushes are cheap, easily available on Ebay and fairly easy to fit. Take the current brushes out, if they are less that three quarters of a centimeter long, changing them is a highly likely fix for your problem

Why won't the drum spin on my washing machine and can I fix it myself

Very likely the brushes are worn, these are located either side of the motor. if you are able to take the motor off the machine but don't know where the brushes are, take the motor to your local repairer who will probably change the brushes for you at a small fee plus brushes. if you are able to identify the brushes and can take them off, the carbon inside the brush holder should be no less than half and inch long. If its less they are probably worn out. get new ones and replace. be careful the carbon brush is very brittle and will break easily. I can't be more specific on changing the brushes as each machine is different.

Where are the brushes located on an asko washing machine ??? I'm fairly handy, can I replace myself ???

hi, I used to fix asko's when I was as work and found the motor brushes really easy to fix on the older machines. I found it best to drop the motor down and change the brushes at the back of the motor on the bench. hope this helps. remember to change both brushes though.

My WMA 062 washing machine is not spinning. I have changed the brushes and a repair man said that it may be the pins for the brushes? How do you remove them and where are they?

hello any spin problems are usually down to the module board, the circuit board is at the back of the washer load wires coming off it

My washing machine won.t spin or turn so could it be the motor as i can,t hear it or would it be the brushes.i,ve got a hotpoint aquarious

I would try the brushes before replacing the motor, or you may have a broken wire. Before attempting any repair unplug the machine from the mains. The brushes on these motors are held in with 2 screws and although it may be a bit awkward they can be changed while the motor is still attached to the machine, but it will mean tilting the appliance so it is resting against something rather than just proping it up . How do you change brushes on a hotpoint aquarius washing machine

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WF740. This does have brushes. Tilt the washing machine backwards & look underneath. The brushes can be seen on the motor housing, they are secured by two screws each.

Candy Model CE10 won't spin

It sound like the carbon brushes in the motor may need changing. It sohuld still be okay to get repaired, as most machines have generic brushes for all of thier models. It's worth calling an engineer and suggesting that the brushes have gone in the motor to get a quote on the repair job. Some engineers will come out and give you a free quote anyway.
