Using Widescreen setting on Samsung LN-T4671F 46" LCD TV.

Recently my TV's widescreen setting has been changed (don't know who nor how), I tried going into the settings and using the "P.Size" button to change the screen to widescreen 16:9, but it does not appear to be widescreen at all. Some channels have the image cut off (heads are cut off or in the case of NY1 I can't see the words or weather display on the bottom of the screen either) and I rarely or at all have a letterbox look (black bars around image, the way I'd like the screen to look again) to my screen.

The top and bottom of the picture on my Samsung LCD TV get cut off. Have tried adjusting the picture size, but there are only 2 options. Anyone know what's up?

Captions are locked on and guide cannot be accessed to turn them off. Also, volume is stuck at 0. When you adjust volume it goes immediately back to 0.

You might have the CHILD LOCK feature on.

Use the remote to access the MENU then SET UP then CHILD LOCK.
Set CHILD LOCK to OFF.

If this doesn't work, try holding down the MENU BUTTON on the front of the tv for 10 seconds until you hear a beep. This works for some models.

Or if all else fails, leave the power cord unplugged overnight and this shoud reset the internal memory back to default settings.

I tried to download the user manual at the following link but the site was temporarily down

http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_ia_cd=101&prd_mdl_cd=LNT4671FX%2FXAA&prd_mdl_name=LN-T4671F&srchword=LN-T4671F

Gppd luck and let us know how you make out.

My samsung ln-t4671f 46'' tv is taking a few minutes to turn on,when it does come on it works fine.how can i fix this problem and how much will it cost? thanks..ROCMAN28

In most cases it is the capacitors in he power supply section that have gone out.

Common symtoms are
-shuts down
-takes a long time to come on
-relay clicks
-dead set

You can get capacitors online or you can get a complete kit with instructions and support from www.TvRepairKits.com . Its a failry easy DIY fix.

LN-T4671F LCD samsung tv clicks on and off for about 1 minute before going on

Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. The power supply may be sensing overloading.

Samsung ln-t4671f clicking - and won't power up

This is common problem of the 46" LCD. The power supply board has caps defective. You can open the case, look for the power supply. Normally, you will see the two small caps pop up. Replaced those caps, the TV may work again. If it does not work, those FET transistor in the board have been damage. You have to replace the whole board. The board cost $150 or so. You can order direc from SS. Go www.samsung.com//us then look for Support icon. Good luck
PS: Circuitcity still sell stuff by website, you can go there and found complain.

You have to have a RF cable hooked to the tuner on the back of the set, should be 2 tuners, hook up the cable to either one and the channel option will be selectable
