The rear surround sound speakers are not working.the front ones are and the sub woofer works fine also. everything is connected properly but have no idea what to do to make them work.can you please help

Make sure that the media you are using has the surround sound...eg. if you are listening to the radio then the rear speaskers will not work as the signal is not transmitted in surround...if you put a dvd in that has the dolby digital signal encoded on it then the rears should work....the rears will only work when you have the receiver in the surround mode..make sure the receiver is in the right mode...also, you may have rear speaker volume settings in the setup menu that may need to be set up..go through the manual and see if there is a setting for the rear volume...most home theater sets have this feature and it allows you to set up the system for different size rooms

Recently purchased yamaha rx-v665 av receiver, was working fine, but for last 15 days while playing either movies on DVD or any audio, the AUDIO shuts off and the speaker display on the receivers front...

Check to make sure your wires aren't crossing on your speakers or if any of them are loose. Could easily be the cause for knocking out your speakers. That's the easy fix. Other than that it sounds like a computer issue. I'd take it back to where I got it from if it was me and it had only been two weeks.
I am kind of curious, though. Why aren't you using all seven channels? You really shouldn't leave channels open like that.

Problem for Pioneer VSX-818V-K 5.1 Channels Receiver Surround sound doesn't work, display reads 2CH IN,surround speakers are enabled, automatic test will find surrand speakers

Test with an surround sound media ie. Blu-ray or DVD)_. Disconnect the front and all other speakers that are working to see if sound from the missing speakers are heard. If this doesn't work then start by tracing and checking all the wires from the receiver to the speakers for bad/shorted/open connections.

PLEASE VOTE IF THIS WAS HELPFUL. THANKS & GOOD LUCK.

Make sure surround speakers enabled in menu, select surround mode on receiver from a media source that is recorded in surround sound or the receiver can produce surround from.

1 front speaker and 1 surround speaker won't work on cable selection

theres probably a problem with the right channel cable or plug that connects the tv to the reciever, or the tv is set to mono audio.

No sound from a sony stereo receiver.

Hi there

Have you checked that the speaker on/off switches have not been bumped also. They are often at the left hand end of the amp next to the power switch and easy to turn on. A Tape monitor switch engaged will also give you those symptoms. Check them out and get back to me here if you cant find the problem

No sound

The only fuse on you stero is for power it's a 6.3 amp 125 volt it'on the main board. I have the sam problem I found a resistor on the board that controls the power amps on the heat sink. A lab here charges 35 dollar bench charge and if you want them to fix it they will apply it to the job. I own the same model and i went to circuit city they had lot of different system on sell. So before i put that in to an old system i'll buy another one
