Scanner not working

Sorry to hear you are experiencing that problem. The Lexmark x1150 is actually discontinued. So there is no driver for Windows 8. You can try downloading the Windows Vista driver. If that does not work then you should go to Add Printer on your computer and choose the USB connection. Then it will show you makes and models of printers. Choose Lexmark and then for model look for x1150. If that is not there then choose any one of the AIO models, your printer will work. Good luck!

that a usual problem among printer that cannot print of a vista OS..I suggest that you will use a windows XP .

• Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
• Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
• restart the computer
• try to download drivers from the website
• after installing the cannon drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer. 

• then you can connect the printer and print a test page.

Your printer is compatible, you need to download and install updated software, see here: Windows Vista Compatibility Lexmark Lexmark X1150

Also unplug printer usb cable before installing drivers, and start installer file using right mouse button click, and then the option 'Run as administrator. Also disable antivirus/firewall before installing.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printer does not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

The Lexmark fax solution is not compact able with vista you need to have winfax by windows, this will work............................

If you are using windows xp home or pro and your scanner will not work and is making a clicking noise when you try to scan. this patch will fix the problem.
