I have an amana dishwasher and it wont fill with water

If it is a dishwasher, it sounds like the Flood Sensor is stopping the cycle. There is a tray between the floor and the underside of the basin. If it is a Dishwasher, you just need to find the leak and fix it.

For a Laundry washer, it is a problem with the control board and needs professional diagnosis and repair.

You have to hire a plumber.

The fill solenoid is stuck in the open position. Replace it for proper operation. Search Over 2 1 Million Appliance Parts

check your water inlet valve. Check it for continuity with a multi meter it should show Ohms or a closed circuit. To test it when water is overflowing unplug the unit and see if it still overflows or continues to fill. no fill If it stops when unplugged. Then it is not a water inlet problem but an electrical signal problem going to ur water inlet valve. Possibly from the panel or board.

Some dishwashers have a float inside that shuts off the water when it reaches a certain level check to see that the float is not stuck in the high water ( off ) position. Hope this helps.

make sure you didnt kink the water hose,wires on tight.check the float inside the dishwasher .it should lift up and down freely if its stuck up (maybe something is under it) it wont let it fill.good luck!

look for the float.

it will be in the bottom somewhere. This is how your dishwasher knows it has water in it.

your float might be cracked or full of water (then it needs to be replaced. if you just want to drain the dishwasher in the short term, you can always prop up the float (but this will prevent the dishwasher from filling up again, because it will think it is still full...)

Or sometimes it is an open bottom or air-trap type of float and it might just be filled up with grease and stuff.

Reach underneath with your finger (YUCK!) if you can, and scoop out the grease. Then it should work just fine.

Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

i have adb1500 i have replaced all the board on front of door, and it leaks at the bottom of door.
