Trying to replace lamp in HDTV and having trouble. Does not function correctly after putting in new bulb. Boots up and then visuals go black and the green power light keeps flashing. Help?

Panasonic DLP TV Bulbs

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

TY-LA1001 Timer reset

While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.

If you have a voltage meter you can pull the bulb out and check for continuity by placing the probes on the power plugs of the bulb. If you have continuity the bulb should be good, and it may be the lamp ballast.

Sounds like the color wheel may have also gone bad. I recently saw a 56" Samsung where the bulb and color wheel went at the same time. The color wheel could produce a crying noise while trying to spin up.

Panasonic TY-LA1000 has good lamp, but black screen. light is blinking green, then solid green, then after some time goes red?

We have a PT-50LC14. We replaced the lamp 6 months ago with a TY-LA1000 bulb we bought from a company online (not directly from Panasonic) and it worked for 6 months. Then the TV started turning off on it's own...sometimes it would not come back on for an hour or so. We called the lamp company and we luckily had 1 day left on our 6 month warranty!! They sent us a replacement bulb and the TV would never power on. It would try to power up, but the bulb would never ignite. The power light would flash and then the lamp light would flash every 5 seconds. I had a friend that has the same type of TV and she ordered her bulb directly from Panasonic. I borrowed her lamp and it powered right up. We then called the online company and they sent us yet another replacement bulb, and I tried it today and it works. It seems like these TVs are very particular about the type of bulb used. Next time, we will be ordering ours directly from Panasonic and just paying the extra $100. We have been without our big screen for 2 very long months! I had called a local tv repair shop, called Panasonic directly, and read through countless internet forums, and I thought we were going to have to replace the ballast or get a ballast repair kit and start messing with the circuit board.

Flashing Green Power on light not picture

Last Saturday evening, I experienced the exact same behavior on my Panasonic PT-52LCX65; it shut itself off without warning. I turned it back on, and it shut itself back off after about a minute, and the red "Lamp" LED on the TV began blinking.

I never got any warning message that the lamp was about to go out, but I've just replaced the lamp and now the TV is working just fine. We had to mail-order the new lamp, because neither H. H. Gregg (where I bought the TV on "Black Friday" 3 years ago), Fry's Electronics, nor Best Buy carries the part locally.

My wife found the new bulb WITH its holding apparatus for something like $120 online, roughly half what other sites were charging. We paid roughly $55 for UPS Next Day Air. The first bulb that was sent arrived broken (some UPS rep apparently thought "Fragile" meant "Shake and Drop"), but the company we ordered from cheerfully rushed us another one, and the second one was in much better shape. (Panasonic doesn't pack these replacement bulbs very well; there's a heavy bulb with a lot of air around it that Panasonic doesn't fill.)

More details available if anyone wants 'em. Hope this helps. -- ChuckE

WD-62327 Lamp

OSRAM VS. PHILLIPS
This is about buying replacement bulbs for the WD62327 TVs.I dont know about the other models but I purchased a PHILLIPS replacement bulb and it worked for about a week and then those dumb flashing lights and no TV. I did some research and others were saying that you had to replace some condensers. Shop would do it for 600 dollars..Well i sent the bulb back and bought an OSRAM replaement bulb. The TV is now working perfect.
