The volume control will LIKELY be an "Audio Taper". If the shaft is broken off, you can measure the resistance between the outside terminals. Find a suitable replacement at DigiKey.com or Mouser.com.

Note: You may have to shorten the shaft to match the original one.

Some of the pots have the resistance marked on them. There are a couple conventions for marking resistance.

(Wk-200) Volume wheel spinning all the way around and not stopping at "min" or "max"

If the volume wheel on your Casio WK-200 keyboard is spinning all the way around and not stopping at the "min" or "max" positions, it is likely that the potentiometer that controls the volume has become faulty or damaged. A potentiometer, or pot for short, is a type of variable resistor that is commonly used to control the volume on electronic devices.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Power off your keyboard and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Remove any batteries from the battery compartment.
  3. Locate the volume potentiometer inside the keyboard. It should be near the volume wheel and will have three pins or legs.
  4. Check the potentiometer for any visible signs of damage, such as cracks or broken pins.
  5. Gently wiggle the volume wheel while observing the potentiometer. If it appears to be loose or wobbly, it may need to be replaced.
  6. If you have experience with electronics and soldering, you may be able to replace the potentiometer yourself. Otherwise, it is recommended that you take your keyboard to a qualified service technician for repair.
If the issue persists after attempting these troubleshooting steps, it is likely that the potentiometer needs to be replaced. In any case, it is best to seek the assistance of a professional technician to avoid causing further damage to your keyboard.

Passive Dean Bass. Simple set-up, 1 volume, 1 tone knob. Turn guitar and amp volume to "10", I get nothing. Other bass works fine so its not the amp or cable. Any ideas?

Broken cable inside, possibly at the output jack?
Or a failed potentiometer (volume or tone)
Pull the back plate off, and have a look at the wiring, Trace it with an ohmmeter to check for continuity at each step.

Keyboard won't play

Try: turning off keyboard and restarting the computer.
Start up Novation until completely loaded.
Switch on keyboard the set id ports....worth a shot(?)

Keyboard communication can be temperamental when interfacing with computers. Especially when dealing with audio problems, latency problems, inputs and outputs.

Follow the directions specifically in the Novation Manual...it only takes one wrong step to stuff the whole thing up ! :)

Service manual

Open the box and try to spray a cleaning/lubricating solution inside the volume pot mechanism like Deoxit D5, you can also spray a little of it on the output connectors where you plugin your cable that runs to the amp. If that doesn't solve your problem you have to replace the volume potentiometer. The machine I have had similar issues and I was lucky to have a pot close in size and resistance value as the original which in my case was broken, so I just replaced it. Good luck!

Hello, one of the keys has come loose in courier transit and i cannot seem to fix it back

To repair a key that has come loose from the pivot, on MUST open the keyboard to get at the mechanism of the leyboard itself. Usually a spring has been displaced or, worse case, a piece of the key pivot is broken off. Be real careful of the ribbon cable tying the two halves of the shell together. Keep track of the screws, type and length to restore them to the proper places.

HI, I just need the value/taper of the 30mm slide potentiometer used in the equalizer of the Behringer K1800XF.

The sliders in almost all of the EQ's in Behringer are linear taper (B). The values are usually 50K. Fo replacement make sure you get matching mounting spacing. Almost all Behringer pots are made by ALPS.
Note that the rotary volume controls are G (graphic) taper, often 50K and are hard to get. trying to get these from the Behringer parts distributor was futile... gave up after 4 months wait.

What potentiometer is being used in rbx 374 bass volume control..because i replaced it with a500 potentiometer but still its not working..i bought yhe bass second hand,,is potentiometers for active pickups...

Yes, active use different value pots than passive. The volume control is LIKELY an "audio taper" which can be either an "A" or a "B" marking as there is confusion about the marking. The resistance is likely around 500K ohms down to as low as 50K ohms. The marking MIGHT be something like 504 B or 503 B or the same with the letter "A".

An A500 pot might be only 50 ohms... That would result in very low output. Again, the marking in the industry is not consistent.

Best bet is to get the part from Yamaha. Go to Yamaha America "parts" dept in California. You can search the phone number with Google.

Hi, I have a Gibson les paul guitar and when i select one of the pick ups i lose all sound from the amp. If i select both pickups then everything is fine as is if i select the other pickup on its own....

It is likely dirty switch contacts on the selector switch. Get a can of CRC226 at home depot and spray the contacts sparingly. The CRC226 is in the electrical department of HD, usually near the electrical tapes in a small blue can.

Light indicator is on

Try changing the battery, if it doesn't help, some possibilities are:

- dirty contacts or a broken wire on the footswitch

- a broken wire from the distortion output to the output plug

- a broken wire elsewhere in the unit (e.g. potentiometers or rotary controllers)

- a bad input / output level or other potentiometer or rotary controller

- a burnt out component (a bit unlikely, but possible, and it could be anything)

- a bad connector contact inside the unit

- a bad pin solder contact on ANY of the components inside the unit (wires, connectors, switches, jack plugs, resistors, variable resistors, trimmers, diodes, capacitors, transistors, ICs, etc.)

Broken wires / badly soldered pins need to be resoldered, but if there is damage to any of the components, they wil probably need to be replaced.

I hope you can find out what it is.
