You can archive/unarchive objects by using the Memory Management editor.

Press "2ND" "MEM" "2" to bring up the Memory Management editor. Press "1" to select "All". Navigate to each item and toggle its status by pressing "ENTER". Archived items will show with an asterisk (*) before the name.

I am getting ERR:ARCHIVE 1:QUITE when I try to

I tried all possible situations where one would get an error ERR: ARCHIVED 1:QUIT 2:GOTO in relation to graphing, and I was unable to do so. Thus I cannot explain your error (in relation to graphing). I conclude that the error is unrelated to the graph.

As a general rule, one you get message ... 1:Quit, 2:GOTO press 2 and you will be shown the location where the offending symbol is.

Anyway, to graph functions, always deactivate the statistical plots
  1. Press [2nd][Y=] to access (STATPLOT) then press [4:PlotsOff]
  2. Command PlostOff echoes on main screen.
  3. Press [ENTER], calculator answers Done.
  4. Open the [Y=] editor to enter your function and
  5. Press [GRAPH].
  6. If you do not see any graph,
  • press [ZOOM][6:ZStandard] or
  • adjust the window dimensions by
  • pressing [Zoom] and
  • setting the Xmin,Xmax,Ymin,Ymax values
  • making sure that Xmin is less than Xmax, and Ymin is less than Ymax.

When one of my students went to stat plot, they got an error archive message

Hello,
Press [2nd][MEM][2: Mem Mgmt/Del][1:All] and scroll down to see if a system variable or other entity that is needed for graphing may have been archived. A variable that is archived has an asterisk next to it on the left.
To unarchive it press ENTER when the arrow reaches it.
You may be able to draw your graphs. It you are unable, I suggest you reset the Ram: Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset] [ENTER]. Press [CLEAR] to erase the message and restart the statistics.

Hope it helps.

Hello,
Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All RAM][2:Reset][ENTER].
Resetting RAM will clear old data stored in list, matrices, graphs, stat graphs.
If you have precious data, you may choose to
press [2nd][MEM][1:ALL] then you scroll down the list and erase individual items. When the Fat Right Arrow points to an item, you press [DEL] to delete it. Be careful not to delete the APPS (have asterisks to show they are archived).

I can't open any progrmas on my TI-84Plus , it only gives : Error and 1:QUIT can you experts help me?THNX

Hello,
You should give the whole error message.
I created a bogus program and archived it.
Then I tried to execute it. I got the messages: ERR Archived 1:Quit 2:Goto. When I tried to edit it I got ERR:Archived 1:Quit.

Your program is archived. You must unarchive it.

To Unarchive. Press [2nd] [MEM][2:Mem Mgmt/Del] [ENTER]
Scroll down to [7:Pgrm]. Archived programs will have a star at the left. Highlight the program you want to unarchive and press [ENTER]. The asterisk disappears. Press [2nd][QUIT]. Your program is ready to run or to be edited.

Hope it helps.

My Graphing calculator has no x or y axis. Its all Blank.

Press the 2nd Button then the ZOOM button. Make sure that AxesOn is highlighted. If not, move your cursor down until you on AxesOn and press ENTER.

If AxesOn is highlighted, then it is probably your window. Press ZOOM, then 6.

My TI-83 doesn't plot

The problem seems to be that the list is archived. To fix this go to memory menu (2nd and mem) then find L1 or whatever list you want and hit enter next to it. This will get rid of the big asterick and then you can graph it or you should be able to.
