Need to replace orfices cant figure out how to get cover off to get to valve

You don't give model #. Most Maytags have 2 screws at bottom of front panel. Remove and swing panel forward from the bottom. Some Maytags require removing the front panel (2 or 4 screws around the door opening). Slide and pull front panel off.

Trying to replace a broken belt and cant quite figure out how to put the new one on

Check out the belt routing at this website.

http://www.applianceaid.com/images/belt-config.JPG

If you hear a loud bang while your dryer is working, and you notice that the
drum has stopped turning, chances are the drivebelt has snapped.
Fortunately, replacing the belt is a fairly straightforward operation that
can be handled with a few simple tools.
First, unplug the dryer. Lift the lint-screen cover and pull out the lint screen
If your dryer has a lint screen on the inside of the door, skip this step.
Then remove the two screws that are under the cover. To unlatch the dryer top,
insert a thin-blade putty knife between the top and front panel,
about 2 1/2 in. in from one corner. Push in on the knife to release the locking
clip, lift the corner, then release the clip on the other side. Swing the top
up and lean it against the wall.
Next, move to the lower toe panel. Slip the putty knife between the lower panel
and the door panel at one side and twist the knife to release the clip
Then release the opposite clip and lift the panel up and off the hinge springs.
To support the dryer drum while the belt is being replaced, place scrap wood
under the front of the drum.
Loosen the two screws at each side of the bottom of the front panel.
Move to the top of the panel and remove the screws from the inside of the
cabinet that hold the front panel to the sides.
Slide the old belt off the drum.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing the belt
Lean the front panel out slightly and allow the drum to rest on the scrap wood
support. Drop the new dryer belt between the front panel and the drum, and
loop it over the drum. Then, lift the drum slightly while pushing the front
panel back into position.
Replace the screws at the top inside of the front panel, tighten the lower panel
screws and remove the scrap wood from under the drum. Check to make sure that
the rear drum seal fits properly over the lip on the rear bulkhead.
Position the new belt where the old belt was, with the grooved side of the belt
facing down.
Now, move to the motor area and pull out the old belt. To route the new belt
around the idler and drive pulley, first pass the entire belt, doubled up,
under the idler pulley. Then, push the idler belt toward the motor, slip the
belt around the motor pulley and release the tension on the idler pulley.

Open the dryer door and rotate the drum counterclockwise a few times to make
sure the belt is tracking properly. Lower the top and press down at each
corner to engage the clips. Lift the lint-screen cover, replace the two screws
and reinstall the lint screen. Finally, secure the lower front panel and turn
on the dryer for a test.

The dryer will not start. I replaced the on/off switch thinking that was the problem. The dryer is still dead. An old dryer I have works fine, so the problem is not electrical from the circuit breaker....

Replace the thermal fuse . If the lint screen is on top of the dryer , remove the back dryer panel and look for a 1 " long white piece with 2 wires going to it . Disconnect the power cord from the wall , and connect these 2 wires togather . Then plug the dryer back in and press start . If the dryer starts , replace this thermal fuse .
If the lint screen is by the dryer door , remove the front panel and the lint screen and the lint screen holder ( 2 screws ) and behind the holder , you will see this white piece . Replace it ( cant turn the dryer on without the front unless you disconnect the belt to test .

Always disconnect the power when working with electrical appliances .

ALSO , if you can use an ohm meter , you can check for an open thermal fuse , which would be the easiest way .

We washed a small rug and we got an E-20 code. what should we do, its having problems draining!

Drain pump screen is clogged. If its makeing a bad grinding sound the pump will need to be replaced. Otherwise disasembly of the machine is required to access pump area to clean out screen. Dextrous people can probaly do this from the back or underneath unit. Its difficult and I don't recomend it to beginers or people who arn't handy. Easiest/prefered method: (This is the one I use.)

Method A units that have a bottom access panel. ie: front panel not one seamless peice.

-unplug unit
-lean back against wall for easy access.
-remove two #2 square screws form access panel.
-Loosen clamp holding hose to tub. (Big black one around 2" in diameter.)
-remove and clean screen.
-reassemble machine and test pump operation.

Method B units the have seamless front panel.

-unplug unit
-remove top. 3 screws @ back, slide top away from machine to remove.
-remove 2 screws holding console onto chasis.
-remove disp
-remove 3 screws @ and behind disp area.
-Remove console. ( tab may be holding to front panel @ middle bottom use putty knife to pry up.)
-remove 4 screws holding front pannel @ top to chasis.
-remove 2 screws holding frong pannel to chasis inside machine. Acess from top. (some models only.)
-remove bottom screws either 4 or 2 usally 4.
-remove two screws holding door lock to front panel
-remove spring from around bellow.
-remove bellow from front pannel
-remove front pannel. Tilts forward and lifts up off supports. (some models only.) or pannel ifs up and off from white tabs in side of chasis.
-unhook wires to door lock from front pannel. (plastic molex tab)
-may now access pump like in method A.

Pump Replacement
-access pump area
-remove drain hose to pump by looseing clamp and pulling off.
-remove hose to tub by losseing clamp and pulling off.
-remove power connection at back left of pump.
-unscrew two philips screws holding pump too base plate. (only one is really required.)

there is 2 screws holding on the panel on the bottom of the front, they are on the bottom of the front of the dryer. after this panel is removed, you can see 2 more screws that allow you to remove the main front panel (and the door) then there should be 4 screws to remove the drum support panel, and then you can slide the drum out
