Question about Northern Tool 10,600 BTU Radiant Kerosene Heater

1 Answer

Burning correctly I have, new purchase within the last 30 days, Dyna-Glo RMC-95-C6. Right after the setup I noticed that the suggest highest flame (height) could never be reached and even the slightest counter-clockwise turn turned it below the edge. The wick is at the correct height and it has been dry-burned numerously. The kerosene (K-1) works fine in the other 'kerosene heater' I have and I always purchase same from the same supplier. Once it has been burning for an hour-or-so the flame drops below the minimum with the adjuster turned fully clockwise. Help.

Since the unit is new I would contact customer support at the we site or by calling phone number in owners manual.

How do you dry burn dyna glo rmc 95-c6

A "dry burn" is when the heater runs out of fuel and the tar buildup on the wick is burned away. This operation should be done outside in a covered location. It should only be necessary every seven days of 24/7 operation.

I just replaced the wick, cleaned up the heater and filled with new K-1 kero. The heater (Dyna-Glo RMC-95-C7) is emitting black smoke worst than ever. The wick is burning a little unevenly.

Either the wick was improperly installed or you may not have allowed enough time for the wick to soak in the kerosene and become evenly distributed. Check the placement of the new wick and allow time (several hours) for the wick to absorb the kerosene.

Dyna glo RMC 95 C6 kerosene heater, BRAND NEW. Wick and flame seem very low. At Max the wick height is 3/8(suggested height by manufacturer), flame is quite low, and not very hot at all

1. Check to make sure you using fresh clean kerosene fuel. 2. Make sure you fill the heater and let it set for at least an hour, 2 hours is better. 3. If either of those solutions don't fix the problem, return to the store.
I have the same heater and just changed the wick. When working correctly, it should be so hot that it's uncomfortable to hold your hand 2 feet over it.

Have a Dyna Glo RMC-95-C2 and I can't get it to lite.

You have to change the batteries.. the manufacturer shipped it with **** batteries.

also take it apart.. very simple and clean out any soot..

Soot will cause heavy smoking...

The wick should last more than a year ....
