1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

How do I resart my camera?

This is not an uncommon error. It results from the lens being restricted during the power up. I have personally had many cameras (Canon, Sony, Nikon and Olympus,) like this that suffered this problem. I could not repair them myself. The cost to have them professionally repaired was most of the cost of a brand new one. For comparison search Ebay and then click on "sold" and you will see the prices people have paid for working used ones. The fix, unfortunately, is to buy a used working model. For this camera they start under $20 for as is and for about $50-460 you can buy one in mint condition. (Yes, you think your stuff is worth more until you see what they really sell for. Yikes!?!) So it makes no sense to pay more for a pro to repair yours when you can buy a used one for less than the repair or a new one. Please, don't shoot the messenger...

Camera does not turn on even with fresh batteries

Observe the new batteries are the most compartible to the camera and also check that the batteries are installed appropiately. Inserting the batteries where positve is at positive and negative is at negative is most appropaite. Observe the batteries compartment to acquire the manufacturers demarkations on which area requires negative and positive side to the batteries being inserted in camera.

When I turn on my camera my lens wont open and it will beep and say Lens error, resart camera. What should I do?

Hi there lens error means lens guide pin damaged. Solution only replacing the lens But you can try these for luck. Please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec .. in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.
i hope it will gives you success.

I just replaced the batteries in my camera and the camera will not turn on. finepix s8100fd

(Nice camera :)

Typically, if the camera worked before the batteries were replaced, then non-function after battery replacement comes down to two items:

1) the batteries were inserted wrong way (with the wrong positive (+) or negative (-) end up or down. Check the inside of the battery compartment to see a little diagram with the + and - sign. Or else look in camera manual.
Fuji s8100 requires 4 x AA batteries, either Alkaline or Ni-MH rechargeables.
The two outer ones should have positive (+) bump UP, and the two inbetween should have the negative (-) smooth UP.

2) or the batteries are not new enough or not fully charged.

Also, when you replace batteries, never mix Alkaline with Rechargeables, and do not mix Old with New. You must go with either 4 Alkaline, or 4 Rechargeables, and either be new or just recently charged up.
Sometimes dirt may hamper the contact, but not usually.
And do make sure the battery cover latches down snug.

Takes photo and then nothing

Hello. Your problem description lacks some detail. First, try a different SD card in the camera - format it IN THE CAMERA. If you are saying that when attempting to view the new shot on the LCD, results in this situation, then is the other information provided (by pressing the up/down) - shot number, details, etc.? Otherwise, if the LCD just remains black, try shutting down the camera and removing the battery and replacing it. ALWAYS SHUT THE CAMERA OFF before removing or inserting the battery or the SD card. If this doesn't address the issue, post additional information.

Either the battery is not making proper contact in its chamber or a fuse is open.
