Your CD player is failed. It will need to be replaced. Some folks can repair but it cost less to have it replaced. If no one local will do it BOSE will for about $150.
Those "cleaning" discs are rarely effective. Open up the unit cna carefully clean the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Update this if that failes to resolve the problem.

Try a lens cleaner cd, as when the lens gets misaligned or if it's quite old, it will find it harder to read a DVD as the tracks are much closer together than that of a VCD as they are cd's and their tracks are wider apart and easier to read.
