the stock app will not allow signatures for text messages. also this would clutter your texts by adding superfluous content to your messages. it is not recommend to do this even with third party apps.
This is a pretty easy thing to correct or add to your handset. Adding a signature to your messages You can add a signature to email messages that you send.In the Inbox, press MENU and then tap Settings > Signature.Enter your signature in the text box, and then tap OK.
I scoured the internet for a solution to this problem and never found it. I finally figure it out on my own. Here's what you're gonna do : Open Messaging Menu Scroll down to Templates and THERE is the signature tab.
Unfortunately for the L7, there is no auto-signature for text messages. However, to setup auto-signature on MMS messages, go to Menu/Messaging/<Menu Button>/Inbox Setup/MMS Message Setup/Composing MMS and you will see an entry box for Autosignature.

Dear MissyT, there is an option in your handset under text settings. There you can go into signature, edit it and write your signature and then send the message. I hope you'll be able to attach your signature with it.
