Chatters When I turn it on, my HP6110xi starts normally, and the cartridges move to the middle of the rod, but then a chatter sets in. It goes "dit dit dit" (pause for 1/2 second) "dit dit dit" (pause) ad infinitum until I turn it off. What is wrong?

Loud chatter on start and rattle from timing chain area

The timing chain area also takes in the alternator and water pump. To isolate the source of the noise, use the old mechanics trick.

Place a 3 foot 1/4 inch brass rod against the flap at the opening of your ear and push until it closes. Place the other end of the rod against various engine components and listen. The noisy problem will conduct the noise up the rod to your ear and you can hear quite precisely where the problem is. Much safer than laying your ear all over a running engine.

You can also loosen the fan belt and run the engine without alternator or water pump (briefly) to see how that affects the problem. Chatter on start makes me think of starter and Bendix gear problems. Sounds like a 2 person diagnostic team to me; one to start the car and one to listen and probe.

Don't know if Subaru Forrester has an engine that has valve interference at piston Top Dead Center. If it is and the timing chain breaks, you are looking at major $$ to recover.

Car doesn't start. when ignition is turned (new ignition) I hear a relay chatter and my horn sounds intermittely, Battery is new & tested goo

The chatter is due to low voltage. Check all the connections. The battery may have corrosion that lowers the voltage.

A relay in my rooftop model 57915.33 chatters intermitently and trips the shore power breaker.

The reason the lights are not flickering and breaker not tripping when 6 pin harness disconnected that goes to roof unit is because the compressor and fan are disconnected, which would be the major draw that causes it. There is a few ways you can narrow down the cause, or defective relay, but my guess is if it's causing lights to flicker and breaker to trip, it's on the compressor circuit. The fan coming on and off unless capacitor faulty wouldn't draw it down that much, and obviously capacitor is good otherwise it wouldn't operate good when turned on normally. I'd start by inspecting wires to and from thermostat for possible rubbing or touching against one another at a bare spot perhaps. Can't rule out 100% that thermostat isn't defective as well. When thermostat set to cooler temperature, and on, does it turn off and on in normal cycles, to maintain temperature?

Our bathroom faucet ''chatters'' when you turn it on. What can I do?

this is a common problem its normally the copper piping inside the walls are not secured to the beams well enough and it causes water hammer in the lines...
if its only just started doing it recently you may get away with cleaning out your taps or replacing them but alot of the time you cant do much about it as the pipes are concealled in the walls

When I turn on the power to the printer, the print carriage cycles to the right as normal then carriage sticks and begins to continually chatter.....at the same time the light bar on the scanner trys to...

There is usually a sensor on one side or the other of the carriage. When you power up the machine, the carriage will be moved to that end, setting off the sensor. Then it will move back and forth to test carriage motion. If the end sensor is faulty, the carriage will still attempt to move until it triggers the sensor, but when it gets to the extreme end, the motor will continue to attempt to move it, causing the chatter. After a time, it will stop with an error message.

Look at the carriage where the cartridges are, and you should see some kind of tab or ear on it. If it's broken, then you may get the symptoms I mentioned above. Also if you can see the sensor, make sure that it's not broken or moved out of place.
