The shredder overheats. The most we can shred are two pages at a time.. this shredder is only 6 months old. what do think is wrong

Have you put any shredder oil or a shredder oil sheet through the machine.

Shredders need oiling to keep the cutters free

Free cutters mean clean cuts and less friction

Omnitech wont shred papers.

Sounds like its jammed? Have a really close look for staples, paperclips etc stuck in the drive gears or blades

I have an Ativia 6000 shredder. The red light comes on and the shredder stops, after only shredding a few papers..why?

If place too many pages in the shredder the motor will be overworked and it will overheat and shut down until it has cooled down. Try shredding fewer pages at a time.

This shredder overheats after 1 to 2 thin weight sheets of paper. Says it does up to 10 sheets but can not handle more then 1 sheet at a time. I have cleaned and cleaned the cutters with no improovement

Have you "oiled" the machine ever.????
Cross-cut shredders require occasional oiling with "shredder oil" to help clear out debris that is made in the shredding process from the cutting mechanism. Get some shredder oil and pour it directly across the cutting blades where you insert the paper... this should help...the occassionaly pour some oil onto a sheet of the paper to be shredded prior to shredding it.

I have a Royal CX 66 Crosscut shredder and attempted to shred 10 pages. The unit shredded 1/2 of the papers and the other 1/2 are stuck in the shredder; the reverse mode will not release the papers. Is...

The Royal cx-6 shredder is a small consumer shredder rated for "up to 6 sheets at a time" so yes it will jam with anything more that 6.
If running it in reverse won't work you will have to try to open it up and see if you can manually turn things to get the paper back out...there is no other way if it wont run in reverse...hopefully when you have the paper removed the machine will still function.

Running sluggish and will only shred about 5 pages at a tiem model #OM 96146 Office max

Favorite with shredders... put some shredder oil on a sheet of paper and shred the page ... you may have to do this a few times if you have never oiled inside the cutting blades.

I have a Royal RL170MX shredder. It has started

Try putting some oil on a sheet of paper and then shredding the paper with oil on it.
If that dosn't fix it....take cover off....(with the unit unplugged.) and check plastic gears in drive train.
