at the back of the water tank which is inside the tank, there should be a floater that will correspond to the internal PCB commands or if you like sensor. if what is full floater should go up if the water is low floater is down.
Just a brief addition, I don't have the Magimix model, but I have a similar one. It loses it's programmed settings if it is unplugged or switched off at the wall, but if you leave it plugged in but turn it off with the switch at the back it keeps the settings you have put in. It draws virtually no power when it's switched off with the switch on the machine, (I checked it with a power meter).
Just thought I'd share that with you.
You can download the instruction manual from various places online; the instructions for the automatic and manual versions are slightly different but you can find them here: www.eirvik.is/gogn/L/m100.pdf www.eirvik.is/gogn/L/m100_automatic.pdf
As a first step I would suggest checking that the water can get out of the tank (just touching it with your fingers (over a sink!) should let drips out). It not, try cleaning that. You could also try descaling it (as in the manual). By the way, if the machine is less than three years old and you still have proof of purchase the Nespresso club will honour the warranty and fix it free of charge; if not, give them a call anyway and see what you can get them to do for you.
Thanks Tish3030! By far the most helpful answer! The manual did not help at all. Besides, I can get the manual anywhere on the internet. :p Removing the tray worked! Genius!
it just means that the pump needs primed. Turn on at the wall and on the machine, wait until screen says ready (make sure water tank full), then turn steam handle on RHS to on (do not push the steam button). the pump will prime until water comes out of the steam nozzle. now turn off the steam handle and you are ready to go!
