Try going into your mouse settings and make they are turned on. If you have the Sympnatics touch pad you have the option to turn it on/off. Does it work with an external mouse (USB mouse) if so its probably turned off.

My cursor disappeared on my Samsung 303C12. Is there a way to turn the cursor on and off?

It sounds like you turned off your track pad. On some laptops there is an indentation on the pad to turn on and off and some have buttons on the laptop. Did you go into your track pad properties to see if it is on? You can do this by clicking on the mouse on the lower left corner of your laptop or by going into control panel. I hope this helps.

Why is my spacebar scrolling at times?

Hi Norman,

The keyboard acts as a text tool when you've clicked in a text box and as a scroll button when you click outside a text box on a web page. Since you say you have a laptop, I'm guessing that you click the text box to type, start typing, and while you're typing, your palm touches the mouse track pad just enough to register as a click while the mouse cursor is elsewhere on the page. I'm not sure if there's a setting to make the space bar stop scrolling altogether but there are settings to make the track pad less sensitive if your track pad manufacturer supports it. For WIndows 7, go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound and click Mouse under Devices and Printers. As mine is a Synaptics device, this window gives me an extra tab with extra settings. It may be worth checking out yours to see if you can turn down the sensitivity. Some laptops also have a handy key combination to turn the track pad on and off. Mines Function F7, but it's probably manufacturer specific. Check your laptop documentation to see if this might be an option.

Cursor jumping

I have had this same issue. I realized one day that the palm of my hand was touching the track pad intermittently. Some of the HP laptops have super sensitive track pads. Mine actually has a button that disables it for typing. let me know, if this helps.

My computer comes on opens windows all looks ok as soon as i touch the cursor, nothing responds,

Make sure that the track-pad (mouse-pad) is not disabled. There should be a button located above the track-pad that allows you to disable or enable the track-pad. If not, I would use a USB mouse and then go into the Control Panel, mouse and change settings there to enable the track-pad.

Cursor drift

don't us the optic mouse with the roller mouse pad. what is happening here, is the optic trying locate a point. since the pad is not flat and smooth. the optic is doing search (meaning it is constantly looking for a landing point). since it can't fine one, it will draft.

hope that will help

Mouse cursor moving by itself

In windows xp go into start menu, then into control panel then click on appearance and themes, then move your mouse over to mouse pointers click on it , uncheck "enhance pointer precision, and click apply, that will stop the mouse from acting crazy, this will work with dell mouse pointers and most.
