hi, PS3 outputs hi definition video through HDMI ie 1080p. Your tv will not support that resolution. Because its a HD ready one ie 1080i. If you wnat to connect the PS3 through the hdmi then you have to down convert the video output resolution of PS3 to 1080i. for that you have to connect the PS3 to any FULL HD tv and go to the HDMI video setup and down convert the resolution to 1080i. After that you can connect the PS3 to you tv. Surely you will get the video.
There is one more way to get the video in you tv. connect the PS3's component video output to the component video input of you tv and the audio output to the corresponding component audio input . Select component video input on the tv. You need a component video cable and a stereo RCA cable for that. ok
hi
There maybe some problem with your TVs resolution. ps3 outputs full hd
high resolution video(1080p) through its HDMI. May be your TV is not
supporting that resolution. Connect ps3's component video out to your TV's component video input
and then try. if it ask for any resolution selection. select 720p or
1080i, above that resolution your TV will not support. Your tv is hd ready
one, not full hd. ps3 's HDMI out is full hd (1080p). or try this
Connect your ps3 to any full hd tv and then goto video setup of ps3.
change resolution to 1080i (down scaling ). then connect to your TV via HDMI. surly u will get the video. ok
If it's the first time using your PS3, use the composite cables that came with it. Turn on the PS3 go to video settings and switch the input to HDMI. After you've switched to HDMI, turn the PS3 off and connect your HDMI cable, go back to video settings and change the resolution to 1080p. If this isn't the first time you've used HDMI for your PS3, make sure your T.V. is on the correct input. If the T.V. is on the correct input, try switching the HDMI cable to a different input. If that doesn't work try using a different HDMI cable, testing different HDMI connections if you're still getting the black screen. If none of those work then it's probably a problem with the PS3, but just to make sure try plugging something else with HDMI to see if that works. If another HDMI device works, then it's your PS3, if it doesn't then it could be a problem with your HDMI connections on the T.V.
hi, ur ps3's HDMI out is a full hd video (1080p). if u r tv does not support full hd this problem can occur. do one thing. connect the ps3 to any full hd tv and go to its video setup, then down scale its video resolution to 1080i. after that connect the ps3 to ur tv. u will surely get video. ok

1. Connect PS3 to your TV
2. Select the Correct HDMI input on your TV
3. Press and hold the [power] button on the PS3
4. perform setup.
These are the steps to setup the video output for the PS3, It is possible that it is set to a resolution that your TV does not support.
If this doesn't work, you may want to contact Sanyo to ask if they have some protection circuit for the HDMI input. Some manufactures TV's will deactivate(turn OFF) the HDMI input under certain conditions. Unplugging the TV or some other procedure usually turns it back ON.
You have to tell the PS3 what the Okyo can do and it probably cannot do 1080P 60Hz (but can likely do 1080P 24Hz). Try ticking more resolutions in the PS3s setup
This may not be DVI issue.
I connected DVD player HDMI ----> DVI ( Dell W3000) LCD TV.
Later I found that Dell TV version of DVI does not support HDCP protocol ( High Definition Content Protection protocol). So I could not play HDMI to DVI movies from my DVD player instead I use Y Pb Pr -- this works ok.
Hope this helps... I am not use PS3 enforces HDCP - I assume Sony linked with Sony Pictures would enforce HDCP on HDMI cable.
