E-mu 1616 Micro dock problem. different levels of output on L/R

Good day,

I'm writing to you because I experience problems with my E-Mu 1616 Cardbus
There are several symptoms of my problem. But generally they concern
MicroDock. The first symptom is: the volume on the right channel is a little bit
lower than on the left. I don't experience this problem whilst being connected to
Cardbus Card headphones out, neither I see it on PatchMix. The second
symptom is that I can hear sound from different channels on the others. For
example, routing one sound to out number 2 I can hear it(rather silently, but still)
on the out number 3 or one. All of my problems has started when I was
playing gig and technical team was moving my stuff, then somehow card fell down the
table and that was it.

I have tried any possible software combination , ant the problem still exists, so it appears that it is a hardware problem.

If you could tell me possible ways to fix this I would be very helpful.

Filip

SOURCE: E-Mu 1616m Mirco Dock Problems

LEE - Couple things to try...

First, make sure you have the EDI cable plugged in between the microdock and the sound card. Yeah... sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised.

Secondly, uninstall the software (CAREFULLY FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS IN THE MANUAL). Once the software is uninstalled, reinstall the software (ONCE AGAIN, CAREFULLY FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS IN THE MANUAL). I've found that if you do not follow the directions word-for-word, things tend to not work.

If the above doesn't help, there's a chance that the microdock is burnt.

Out of curiosity... you didn't plug/unplug anything from the microdock with the microdock powered on, did you? This could be death, if you did...

I having pcs motherboard, and also lg driver, but the edi pin and also motherboard edi pin is not suitable . . . what about the solution

If I'm interpreting what you are saying correctly it sounds like you are either trying to use the on board network connector on your mother board to connect to a Audio Dock, or you are using the wrong kind of Audio dock together with your PCI or PCIe E-MU card.
Scenario 1: You'll most likely fry the network connector and the Audio dock or if you are really lucky only one of them. Fingers crossed that it's the cheaper of the two that goes.
Scenario 2: The 1616/1616m will only work with the PCIe version of the controller card from E-MU. The 1820/1820m will only work with the PCI version of the controller board.
Again, if you are lucky your hardware is still functional, but I wouldn't bet on it. Combining the wrong controller with the wrong Dock will most likely smell a bit funny after a while.
The PCI version of the controller board provides power to the whole 1820 and considering how hot the docks can get you can bet that it's quite a lot of current that is provided.
I've tried to figure out the pinout of the EDI-connector and there's a 48VDC going into the dock's onboard PWM-regulator. This is apparently generated from a floppy-power connector providing an additional source of 12VDC to the step-up PWM on the controller board.

Hello. i have question about soundcard e-mu 1616 (not 1616M) please answer me pls. she work with windows 7? on official site i not see driver for Win7. but on 1616M driver is exists thx

Apparently versions of the E-Mu 1616 sound hardware are still being sold, and this is now 2013. My experience suggests that E-Mu is out of business. Creative Technologies has kept the E-Mu site online, but the forms are broken, nothing's been updated for years, the forum is virtually inactive, and Support links are dead or missing. I recently couldn't even find a support contact for Creative (Soundblaster). The 1616 Microdock is a highly capable product, but its software is hard to figure out and compatibility for the constantly evolving Windows operating systems is questionable. Mine currently has stopped working with some of the software it worked with for years (using Windows XP and then Windows 7), and apparently some software (e.g. Audacity) does not support it at all. Online retailers should take this product off their "shelves."

I'm looking for a driver E-MU 1616 m, for Mac

As I can see, there are no Mac drivers for this device yet.
You can however use a (virtual) PC emulator or Bootcamp
to be able to start a suitable Microsoft Windows.

Loading problem emu1616

First up, I am no expert, but hope I can help.
I think that it is just a matter of following the installation procedures which EMU describe in the booklet.

When you insert the card for the first time, do not install using the hardware wizard.

Instead exit out of it and insert the cd, which will run a seperate install procedure (if autorun is enabled).
During the installation, a splashscreen will pop up (at around 45% complete) saying that the driver is not signed. Choose 'continue anyway'.

This should take care of the digital signature issue.

After this, there might be a problem with the cardbus controller.
This is highlighted on the EMU website.
Thats the problem which I am struggling with and hope someone can help out ..
