Epic550 treadmill shutdown unexpectedly and display is blank.

I own a Epic550 treadmill. It shutdown unexpectedly after 6 minutes and the display screen went blank. The magnetic switch was in place. I checked the power plug for electricity and checked the thermal fuse. Both these items were fine. The speed was 3.6mile/hr, incline just set to 4% grade and the TV and fan were turned on. Do you have any suggestions?

Check the upright wiring harness on the right side. If the harness was routed incorrectly or care was not take during installation, the harness is pinched/cut/damaged when the right upright is bolted on. This is the main issue I encounter on this style treadmill when it will not work after assembly. Will require a new upright harness if damaged. If it is under warranty, call and have them replace it. It is covered

Testimonial: "The wiring harness was indeed pinched and the control fuse was blown. A little solder and a new fuse fixed the problem. Thank-you for the insight."

This conditions will be cause an abrupt
shutdown of the bel and the motor controll detect an sharp increase a drive current and inmediate stop driving belt. Some situation will be damming the belt and cause this error code .Without abuse will be a situation for cause a extreme care and analysis.

Just had mine delivered on February 11th. Ran on it once and the screen went to complete contrast darkness. You could still see the display but you could see it better at an angle than you could looking right at it.

Got on it today and the screen was completely blank just like you (after 6 uses). Sears came and the guy said the screens on these treadmills were junk.

Apparently Sears will be replacing our treadmill at some point!

The display turn off after few minutes (blank screen, no message). When it does that, the power led stay green. When I turn it off and on, the display work again for a few minutes and the same problem...

jackperson, Might be internal problem with the units power supply (ac line in to DC conversion) having shutdown issues. You will need to do some reading in my fixya profile for a while and then you will know what to look for inside unit. If not into electronic repair stuff, skip the reading and trade-in unit for new, if current unit is 4, 5, 6 years old. 12fixlouie
