I removed the black ink cartridge that was REFILLED at a popular retail outfit and replaced it with a remanufactured one I bought on the web. As soon as I closed the lid, the flashing stopped and it has been working GREAT ever since. Many postings had already recommended the changing to a "new cartridge" to remedy this flashing lights and "pen failure."

Our Data light keeps flashing and the printer won't print. How do we get the data light to stop flashing so we can use our copier again with our computers?

Sounds like a bad print job stuck in a print spooler.
Turn off copier. Go around to all computers that print to it and open the print queue. delete all print jobs. reboot each PC. Power up copier and see if it clears

One green flash & 2orange flashes. when the lid is lifted, the carriage won't move to the middle.

First, turn off the printer.

Then, remove/delete all print jobs, if any (printer icon tray > show active printers > select jobs and press delete). If the jobs didnt get exclude and are keeping the status of "excluding/deleting", restart your windows.

After reboot, check if the jobs are gone. If so, turn on your printer and try to print again.

6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.

If this not help may the print head is defective.
