SAMSUNG SV-DVD440 Combo

When I insert a CD into the unit, it plays perfectly. When I insert a DVD instead, I get the following message: "This Disc cannot be played, Please check the disc". No matter how many different DVD discs I put in, I always get the same result. The DVD discs are in working order, because they play on my laptop computer.

I burned DVD+RW discs on PC but can't play on Samsung SV-DVD440 ? can play on other DVD-player, please help !!

Assuming you did create a menu/title for the DVD+RW, and it works in other players (without the need to finalise), your Samsung DVD unit probably does NOT support this format.

In short, it would be a limitation with this model unit; not a fault with either your discs or the device itself. If it accepts finalised DVD-R as well as shop-bought DVD movies, go with those.

According to the manual, this unit supports limited DVD formats for playback.

DVD+RW (depending on the writing software used) burned on a PC is generally not finalised which means you should be able to erase and re-write to the same disc and/or copy it to a DVD-R and then try the copy in the Samsung.

The (small) bonus here is that it didn't cost you anything to ask, and it won't cost you anything in terms of repairs - AND you do not need a new player at this point.

DVD player won't recognise CDs

Moving the unit should not cause this , unless it was dropped.
It sound like the Laser is weak- or dead , i don't think its feasible
to repair , because there so cheap in cost and quality.
