Fridge is freezing food

It could be

- a faulty thermostat
- a loss of refrigerant through leakage
- a very poor sealing door gasket

If the fridge is old I'd say you will need to replace it.

Can you feel air moving or hear the fan running in the freezer section? You said the freezer section is freezing well, but is it freezing really hard?

Most likely reason is fridge evaporator sensor faulty. The sensor is screwed to the back wall of the fridge behind bracket next to light and has a green band near the end . The sensor come as a repair kit (part no. 7323301). Just follow instructions in the packet.It is quite straight forward

Hi,the problem you are encountering is as a result of the fact that the thermostat which regulates the cooling temperature in the fridge/freezer is bad hence there is no regulation of the cooling temperature in the fridge/freezer section, hence the food in the fridge freezes up.

The solution is to replace the thermostat of the unit,here is how you go about it;

1.You have to disconnect the fridge from the power source.
2.Locate the thermostat at the bottom of the unit,at the top left corner above the condenser.
3.Now you need to locate the wire ends or wire harness and unplug them.
4.Replace the thermostat,reconnect it back,put the back cover back and you have completed the job.

i just want to say that i have the same fridge freezer and that is whats happening to mine. even the drinks are freezing aswell as tomatoes and any other thing that is put in there. after reading your problem im thinking maybe this is a manufacturing fault. i am about to buy an extended warrenty for mine then i can get the poeple to fix it as mine is also 3yrs old. hope that helps.

This is a drawback of most mini-fridges. Start by defrosting everything. Then fill ice cube trays with water and keep lowering the setting until the water freezes. Just go a little lower, no more. Fridge should not freeze food. If the fridge stays closed all the time food will freeze. Also if the freezer element gets ice buildup it must be defrosted. Not automatic like home fridge. Most kids today weren't born when the last fridges that had to be defrosted were in service.

There is a damper between the Freezer section and the Refrigerator sections. If the damper is open to much the refrigerator will freeze up and it will freeze food. Find this damper and close to about 1/2 way.
The Thermostat is seperate make sure this is set around the middle setting. If the thermostat is bad it can cause the refrigerator to also freeze. Turn the dial down and listen for the compressor to click off. then wait a few minuites turn it up and see if the compressor come back on. If you turn the Thermostat all the way down it will shut off with the switch. not shut off by satisifying the temp. so just turn it down slowly and see if it is working.
